Comfy Guest Suite + Patio in Historic St. Elmo!

We hope you'll love our historic home! We take extra care to keep our guest space sparkling clean. Our spacious guest suite provides a private bedroom/bathroom, a living area w/workspace, and a patio on the bottom floor of our house. We have a large backyard and off-street parking. St. Elmo restaurants, Lookout Mtn. tourist attractions and outdoor activities are nearby. Beautiful downtown Chattanooga is just a short 10-minute drive. When you stay with us, you are supporting local musicians! The space As an owner-occupied Airbnb we aim to take excellent care of our guests while also providing the maximum amount of privacy. It's the best of both worlds - you get the entire guest area to yourselves plus the benefit of caring neighborhood hosts! The spacious guest suite offers the entire bottom floor of our house, and you'll receive a smart-lock code to enter the house from the downstairs back entrance, right by the off-street parking area. Inside the entrance is the comfy living area with an office desk, hospitality bar, comfortable couches, and 55" TV with FireTV. There is independent temperature control (separate from upstairs), a mini-fridge, electric water pot, Brita-filtered water pitcher, Keurig, and microwave. We gotta admit - we are often jealous that our guests get to enjoy this space more than we do! The private bedroom is just to the right of the entrance and has a comfortable queen-size bed, rocking chair, closet, and black-out window shade. The adjacent renovated bathroom features a dual-sink vanity and shower/tub with a wand/shower head that provides clearance for tall adults. Please note that there is a staircase connecting the upstairs and downstairs entryways of the house. We have added a thick curtain for extra privacy, and the bedroom suite can be completely closed off by doors. The back patio by your entrance is also available for your use and includes an awesome swing for porch sittin' and taking in the view of Lookout Mtn. We have large trees and lots of birds and squirrels stopping through! Due to our large lot and the large wooded lot across the street, this little corner of St. Elmo feels a lot more quiet and private than many other areas of the neighborhood. Please note: Our space is most ideal for 1-2 people, but for groups of 3-4 people we have comfortable air mattress options of different sizes that can be set up in the living area or inside the bedroom. Please let us know your preference and we'll be happy to set it up prior to your arrival. Or you can decide once you get here. If you are a cyclist, there is room to bring your bike inside, or it can be locked up outside under the covered back patio. In light of recent events in the global community, we want guests to know that we are obsessive about sanitizing our guest area. That includes wiping down hard surfaces such as the smart lock, door handles, light switches, remotes, the bathroom, and around the guest bed. We also have a new washer with a steam sanitizing setting that we use on all guest linens. We typically only host guests on the weekends, so the volume of people coming through is a lot less than other places. Guest access Your guest suite includes a private bathroom, and living area. This includes the downstairs desk, couches, TV, and back patio. Our main living area is upstairs (off-limits), and we stay out of the downstairs living area during your stay. We take care to respect your privacy and ask that you do the same. The upstairs and downstairs entryways are connected by open stairs between floors, but there is a thick curtain to add extra privacy, as well as a gate at the top of the stairs. We have premium Wi-Fi and streaming services for your use but we do not subscribe to cable TV. The downstairs storage rooms are locked and are not shared spaces. Other things to note The guest bedroom is the most ideal for a couple or one guest. If you have more than two people in your party, the couch in the living area is pretty comfortable and/or we have air mattress options of different sizes that can placed inside the private room or living area. We have a small dog. She is very sweet and friendly, but she will briefly bark whenever she hears anyone come in the door. If you are a dog-lover, she would love to meet you! If not, we can keep her entirely out of your way. We have a gate at the top of the stairs that will prevent her from coming downstairs into the guest area. Although it has been renovated, our home is over 100 years old. We do our best to be very quiet when we have guests, but it is probably unavoidable that you will hear us walking around upstairs.
