CONDO MIRA DEL MAR is named for its spectacular panoramic sea views from the condo. It is a FABULOUS 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath unit in a small 4 unit seaside resort with a short 2 minute walk to a sand beach to swim, snorkel, kayak, fish or lounge. It offers SHORE ACCESS SNORKELING & DIVING right off the beach, plus a great infinity pool. Its reef-protected , pristine beach swimming area enables your OWN CALM WATER QUADRUPLE OLYMPIC SIZE "POOL”! And fish-view snorkeling. Please note that due to management changes, the cafe/bar is no longer available, and because of higher sea water levels caused by climate change the beach scenes are signifcantly different from the video. The condo is FULLY FURNISHED and EQUIPPED with on-site laundry and all kitchen necessities, including --stove --fridge --microwave --dishes and eating utensils --toaster oven --pantry items, such as tea, salt, pepper and items left by other guests --plus 5 gal jug of bottled water. It has quality, comfortable furnishings, air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout, plus big screen cable TV, and free in condo Wi-Fi internet service, which is also available in the pool and patio areas. Bed linens and bath/beach towels are provided sufficient for all guests. It has 3 BEDROOMS and 2.5 baths—for up to 5 guests or a 6th guest if approved by owner. Bedroom configurations include: --master bedroom with a queen bed, mirrored closet and dresser --2nd bedroom with a double bed, mirrored closet and dresser --3rd bedroom with 2 single beds, Children are welcome. However, the unit does not have cribs or other bedding for infants or small children. Guests with infants or small children will need to bring their own sleeping equipment and bedding. It's FIVE BALCONIES provide space for relaxing and enjoying the sea breezes and magnificent views-- three overlook the Caribbean sea and two overlook the lush forest. The condo is non-smoking except for the outside balconies. Pets are accepted upon owner approval. The resort's spacious pool and lobby area offer space for lounging and BYO drink or food. Common activity areas also include the spectacular panoramic 180 degree 3rd floor ROOF-TOP terrace viewing area. Guest access Rental cars and taxis are available from both airport and ferry terminal. Transportation costs to and from the condo are the responsibility of the guest. Pre-arranged condo check-in is required by contact with the property manager at least several days prior to arrival as there is no 24/7 reception desk at this small resort. A RENTAL CAR is advised to explore the many sites on the island—though taxis are readily available, and quite inexpensive, especially if flagged on the main road. Some guests have expressed anxiety about the 0.7 mile gravel road to the private location of the resort. However, the road was significantly improved in 2019---BETTER LIGHTING, IMPROVED GRADING AND GRAVEL So, even in the event of heavy rain, the medium sized and smaller cars will be able navigate the road without concern. SNORKELING GEAR---guests are advised to bring or purchase their own snorkeling gear, though some limited gear may be available. Kayaks may available for rent from a neighboring resort. A guide may be able to be arranged to escort you by kayak or power boat to the nearby off-shore reef areas for fishing or snorkeling--among the best on the island. The "house reef" is a dive site named Connie's Dream, which is shore accessible on calm sea days direct from the beach ---about 100 yard swim. Direct access may be challenging depending upon the surf. Best to bring hard sole swim socks or dive booties to traverse the coral in places. Another dive site, named Marilyn's Front Porch, is nearby and best accessible via kayak, although can be reached by shore access swim. The well-known dive and snorkeling spot, Mary's Place, also is nearby---requires boat access. A special trip to Pigeon's Key is well worth the cost and time. SCUBA DIVE shops are nearby. Be sure to use BUG SPRAY when at the beach due to sand flies--- esp. on calm days. The resort is a NATURE PRESERVE, and the area is a sanctuary for endangered iguanas and features vibrant mangroves. It is eco-tourism oriented, and, as such the natural white sand beach is kept clean, but manicured only occasionally, as needed. The beach area has lounge chairs. The general ambiance is a QUIET AND SERENE SETTING setting. If you are looking for nightly parties and music, this is not the place for you. The resort is about 30 minutes away from the major tourist and party areas, such as West End and West Bay. Please note that the condo is located on the second floor, so a one floor stairway walk is required for access. If you love SNORKELING or DIVING---especially right off the beach or shore, you will find some of the Caribbean's best coral and fish viewing right here!
