Casita de Luna =Open Space, Stunning Views, Beach

Unbeatable views of mountains AND ocean (no exaggeration) at Casita de Luna, oasis near the beach. Only 3 min walk to beach & 10 min walk to restaurants, market, laundry & sea turtle releases. One neighbor close on north side but open desert/ocean view to south, yet 10 min drive to historic town & more restaurants & shopping. Surfing a few miles north, whale watching on the big front porch & rooftop! King bed, Starlinklite Wifi, filtered kitchen water, no traffic! No smoking/vaping on property. The space A spacious studio with large windows and French doors that open out to the ocean view and desert surrounding the casita, with self check-in. Set in the desert near the beach, the 300+ sq ft porch with awning wraps around to capture the best views of mountains and ocean. The views don't disappoint, day or night with comfy rocking chairs to enjoy it and just a half block walk to the beach. We are on an acre of restored native desert and surrounded by another 90 undeveloped acres of cactus forest and wildlife habitat. Only 1 close neighbor to the north, others farther away to west. You'll be sharing it with our resident road runner, cute quail, brilliant cardinals and orioles. Many guests spend most of their time on the front porch or rooftop, watching birds and whales, and relaxing to the soothing sound of the waves. The intimacy of this natural setting is seductive. It's our home, not a guest house, so it's "just like home" including all the things you'll need: Starlink Lite wifi, Filtered water right out of the kitchen faucet, fully stocked kitchen, patio rocking chairs and 0 gravity loungers available for outdoor living on the porch, or roof top. Star gazing is a must! Beach toys such as umbrella, cooler, beach chairs, boogie boards and mats available for a fun trip to the beach. Yoga mats and light weights in the closet. A smart Fire TV with DVD player is available along with a selection of DVDs. However, the view will draw you outdoors, and the comfy chairs on the porch will keep you there. No smoking or vaping on property, inside OR outside, unless you clear it with us. Unfortunately a $50 fee can be issued for smoking without permission. Porch surface is easily stained. Thanks for understanding. Guest access The casita is all yours while you're there. Keys will be left in lock box for self check-in at your convenience. Casita will be ready by 1:00 PM in the afternoon. Beach toys (cooler, beach umbrella and chairs, boogie boards, mats, etc) are in storage under the patio, accessible with red key; beach towels are in the bathroom cabinet. Other things to note We have a floor Air Conditioning unit available from spring to late October, in addition to 2 ceiling fans, a tower fan and a box fan. We also have strong screen doors with secure locks so you can leave inner doors open over night to cool off with fresh air. House is oriented to capture the breeze from southwest off the ocean to provide for free flowing air moving through the house. August and September are typically the only really hot months, depending on the year. Leaving the screen doors locked and inside doors open all night really helps keep the house cool. The air conditioning unit only cools down to the high 70s to low 80s, depending on the weather, but it helps with comfort quite a bit. My rates are so low in the summer, there will be a utility charge for just the high use of the AC unit at 24 hours per day. That goes above the electric company's highest rate price threshold for kw hours. I WILL COVER THE COST OF USING THE AIR CONDITIONING UP TO 9 HOURS A DAY. For use of the unit 24 hours a day, the extra charge will be about $13 for a 3 night stay or $30 for a week stay. The amount of use will be determined by monitoring the electric meter and a request for extra funds will be made after checkout. Again, I will cover use of the air conditioning unit up to 9 hours a day, you only pay for the part above and beyond that level. Thanks for understanding. (Please replace if you use it up.) * Wine and Margarita glasses provided, including a blender to make them! * French Press, Mr. Coffee and Espresso machine provided along with Coffee Grinder to make it up fresh! * BEACH TOYS provided: cooler, beach umbrella and chairs, mats, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, beach towels. Beach toys are in storage under patio - use red key. * All linens and towels are provided, including beach towels and beach mats. * Pressurized water system with plenty of hot water in walk-in shower. * Ceiling fans, tower fan and wall fan when french doors opening toward beach aren't enough. * Private roof-top terraza with corner bar / table for star gazing, whale watching, yoga, sunbathing or sunset drinks. * Hammock stand in palm grove or hammock (in closet) to hang on beach-side porch. * Table and comfortable chairs on corner of porch for al fresco dining. * Day-bed swing also under the palms facing the ocean. * 0 gravity lounge chairs and patio rocking chairs for relaxing on porch or terraza. * Lots of books provided for reading pleasure. * Yoga mats and 1 pair weights (2 pounds) available for your workout. * Gas BBQ - must ask me IN ADVANCE for it. * Radio/Ipod/ CD player but you need an AUX cord. *EYE COVERS are available in bath cabinet for those sensitive to light. * Bird bath in front - keep it full to keep the birds coming in if you want to watch. Or sit and watch the whales in the winter season! This is our home, not a guest rental, so it is fully supplied with almost everything you'd have in your own home. Please treat it as you would your own. In addition, it is in the desert and water is limited. we kindly ask that you conserve water. if you rinse things, please rinse near plant gardens so the water can serve 2 uses. Thanks! Here are the steps we've taken to reduce our footprint on the earth: * All the water from sinks and shower go out to the garden - none is wasted! * The house is partially on small solar electrical system for conservation and as backup when Mexican CFE electricity goes out. * All energy-efficient, LED light bulbs used throughout the house. * A recycling bin provided for cans, glass, plastic and some paper that WE will recycle for you if there for just a week or less stay. * A compost can for those wishing to compost (blue can to south of porch, please keep lid on). * We also provide reusable shopping bags, hanging in the kitchen. * Hand soap is in refillable containers to avoid single use plastic bottles. *Cold, Britta-filtered water is available for you in the fridge instead of single-use water bottles. *All linens are line dried in the fresh Baja sun. * We are committed to the cause! Note August and September are the rainy season and potential hurricane months. Todos Santos is on the edge of the hurricane zone so has low probability. This is also the time of power outages across town. Our transformer is new so they don't usually last long and we do have a small solar backup system that provides some lights and power for phones, fans & modem. There are dogs in the neighborhood like every place in Mexico. They are friendly and you may occasionally hear them but not much.
