An ideal day here can include a morning coffee on the wraparound deck, working remotely with an amazing pastoral view, exploring the barn, hiking one of many nearby trails, and ending the night roasting marshmallows under the stars and unwinding in the clawfoot tub. The giant south-facing wraparound deck is perfect from your morning coffee, sunset yoga, and stargazing. It’s been the perfect year-round getaway: surrounded by amazing foliage in the fall with a pellet stove ready for a snow day, and tons of windows for enjoying Spring and Summer greenery. Inside, an open, sundrenched living area provides an equally cozy and spacious environment for relaxing, cooking, and enjoying the pastoral view. A 60” Smart TV (with Netflix and Hulu included) + a pellet stove provide extra warmth and entertainment to gather around by night. The basement game room/theater provides entertainment for all ages, with a wall-sized projector, ping pong table, foosball/air hockey, children's books, DVD player, board games, and vintage video games and arcade games. The basement also includes a private bedroom with its own bathroom/shower. The loft suite provides a sense of privacy and luxury with a queen bed, beautiful clawfoot bathtub, private terrace, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. Plenty of work desks and spaces to accommodate remote workers. *Cell service is very good at the house, but please keep in mind that being off a private road, the WIFI can be spotty at times - an honest 3 out of 5 stars - so anybody who needs strong and consistent internet for zoom, etc. should bring a hotspot and limit the amount of devices being used* FULLY STOCKED with clean linens/towels, toiletries, kitchen essentials, coffee, firewood, and laundry room. Just bring food, drinks, and friends! NEARBY THINGS TO DO: Lego land - 20 mins Mohonk Mountain / Rock Climbing at the Gunks - 30 mins New Paltz - 20 mins Monticello - Skiing and Water Park - 20 mins Lake Minnewaska - Ice Caves, Swimming Holes, Hiking - 30 mins Storm King - 30 mins Beacon - 40 mins Follow along at @brimstoneacres.upstate on IG Other things to note ** Keep in mind the perks of living off a private road come with some additional considerations ** Our WiFi comes via satellite, so it is not very reliable, but our cell reception is good, so for any remote work/schooling that requires a lot of heavy data/streaming, we recommend bringing a mobile hotspot for additional connectivity and limiting the amount of devices being used. We also have well water so it may be different than you're used to - it can have a slight sulfur smell. It's perfectly safe and there is a reverse osmosis water filter for drinking. And finally, be sure to check the weather and plan accordingly. It doesn't happen often but being on a private road can mean getting snowed in for the day waiting for the plow to come, the chance of losing power, etc.
