Pool is open! Hot tub open all year! Fully equipped RV is parked in the driveway of our Pool Barn. RV sleeps 5, has bath w/shower, stove, microwave, heat & A/C, & running water all year. We are located minutes from the sand beaches of Indiana Dunes on Lake Michigan. Hiking in the Indiana Dunes National Park along the Little Calumet River and the historic Bailley homestead is only 1 block away. You may also use our large pool, hot tub, grill, campfire, and playground area. No cleaning fee! The space ***We are taking the extra precaution to sanitize everything between every stay*** IndianaDunes website is a great resource for why visit our area. The Indiana Dunes has over 3.5 million visitors each year! The Pool Barn Camper is 2009 26' with a tip out and sleeps 5. It has been modified to endure the cold weather and is available all year! There is a master bedroom with a Queen size bed. There is another Full size bed in the back behind a curtain. The couch folds into a Twin sized bed. The camper includes a bathroom with sink and shower. It has a frig, freezer, stove, and microwave. There is also a toaster and a Keurig for coffee. All the cookware, dinnerware, and silverware is provided too. A roku smart tv allows you to access YouTube, sign in to your Netflix or Prime Movies account and more. The water lines and bottom of the camper are heated for camping all year! Please remember a Camper with AC, heat, and comforts of home is much more comfortable than a tent, but it is a relatively small space. It isn't ideal for large people or groups to just hang out. A camper is great for enjoying the outside and still have a comfortable safe place to sleep and get out of the weather. So let me tell you about outside... The large 20x40 inground pool has several loungers. Like a resort Pool, it is only 5 foot at the deepest so not suited for diving, but great to have your own space when sharing, great for children, and for water volleyball. We have floaties, balls, goggles, and snorkels too. The pool area has night lighting and torches to keep the bugs away while enjoying a night swim. We keep the water heated so it is still refreshing on hot days and yet comfortable on cool evenings. The Pool is open approximately May 1 to Oct 31. We provide bath towels. It is a good idea to bring your own towel for the pool, hot tub, and beach. When it is too cold for the pool, or you just prefer hot water, enjoy the hot tub, kept at 102 degrees. Enjoy the still water or turn on the jets! The hot tub seats 8 and is open all year! There is large propane grill near the hot tub and firepit which is shared with the Pool Barn guest. There is also a separate propane grill by the Camper just for Camper guests if the main grill is being used. Propane provided. The campfire area has plenty of seating space and abundant firewood available at no additional charge. There is now also a portable fire pit just for camper guests if the main campfire is being used by Barn guests. If we are home we'll even get the fire started for you. The playground area has swings, slide, tree house, and hammock. All outside areas are shared between Camper Guests, Barn Guests, and our family. Bring your bikes! We are on the Duneland Prairie Bike Trail. Great trails next door in the Dunes National Park for hiking or running too. I may even go with you if you'd like the companionship. We also have a canoe and 2 kayaks available to take a river trip or use on Lake Michigan for only $25 per boat. We will even transport them for you for another $20. And of course, we are only 3 miles from the sand beaches of the Indiana Dunes State Park and Porter Beach on Lake Michigan. Enjoy a morning stroll. Take in the sunset and see the Chicago skyline on a clear evening. Bask in the sun and take a swim on a sunny day. Go hiking in the Dunes and do the 3 Dune Challenge! Guest access The Pool Barn Camper is separate from the Pool Barn and our home so you have private access and may come and go as you please. You have private access to the interior of the Camper. You do not get access to the interior of the Pool Barn. The outside amenities such as pool, hot tub, grill, campfire, and playground are shared with the Pool Barn guests and our family. Other things to note Why do we charge for extra people? We are just asking you to cover our costs. We wash the bed linens, bathroom towels, pool towels, and make sure everything is clean between every stay. More people also means more upkeep of the common areas. We want you to enjoy the same cleanliness (or better) that you expect in a nice hotel. We have a dog. He stays in our house which is separate from the Pool Barn. Remington is a black German Shepherd. His bark can be a bit scary but he loves people. He gets let out on occasion and may bark for a minute, but he is friendly if you are too. If you don't like dogs, the Pool area is fenced and can close the gates to keep him away from you. Since we are located just South of Lake Michigan, there are numerous trains and highways that run near us to get around the lake. Most people tell us that the highways and trains don't bother them. However, if you're new to camping and a light sleeper especially in new places, you may want to use ear plugs. There should be a box of them on the kitchen counter. Please remember this is a camper, not a house. If there is a heavy rain, a little bit of water may get inside. If rain is expected, just be sure the ceiling vents are completely closed and keep things off the floor that may soak up water. If you need more towels, just let me know. Finally, our home is in a wooded setting and we are one block from the Dunes National Park. As such, we have birds and animals of many kinds in the area, and who visit our property. You may see anything from deer eating our apples in the yard, to a mouse or two seeking your snacks in the Barn or Camper. You may also see coyote, fox, raccoons, possums, squirrels, chipmunks, and moles. We have butterflies, dragonflies, and fireflies. We also have other flies of all sorts and mosquitos and spiders too. We spray for mosquitos and insects, and we have poison and traps out for the moles and mice, but that doesn’t completely prevent them from visiting. We also have many birds from bald eagles and cranes, to hummingbirds, and bats in the evening too. There is nothing in our area likely to harm you though. We have no bears or large cats. Even poisonous snakes are very rare here. Our water at the beach is fresh water too, not salt water. That means no sharks or jellyfish to be concerned about. We love our nature here, and we hope you will too.
