The Fern Hill Lodge, lovingly renovated by a local master carpenter, is perfect for families, couples, or friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in nature! Relax and unwind in our private, secluded, rustic sanctuary just 2 hours northwest of NYC. We are nestled on a luscious hill off the main road, hidden on our gorgeous, ferntastic 20 acre property. Please follow us on our IG page! @thefernhilllodge 🌿🌿🌿 The space THE LIVING ROOM At our home, you will find a meticulously renovated open-plan living room with vaulted ceilings, a massive stone fireplace, and a new kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The living space includes: - multiple places to sit, relax and enjoy the silence and solitude of nature - a Victrola record player (with Bluetooth- we also have many classic records) - a 1950s vintage tube radio! - a gas-powered fireplace in which you can enjoy the warmth and light of a fire! (If you'd like to make a fire, we have a fire-pit in our front yard) It's a perfect home base to chill out after exploring the dazzling nature of the Delaware Valley! THE KITCHEN The kitchen is fully stocked with all the tools you might need to make a tasty breakfast, lunch, or dinner (please check our amenities for more details); the island has seating for two, while the custom rustic dining table has seating for 4 or more. Enjoy a delicious cup o’ joe made on one of our many coffee makers or craft one of your favorite meals in our air fryer, instant pot, or even our Dutch oven! We offer one light continental breakfast upon your arrival as well. Let us know if you have any allergies in advance. THE BEDROOMS The top floor also includes a subway-tiled full bath with a skylight and two quaint and charming bedrooms with new mattresses for the most tranquil sleep. The larger bedroom features: - an inviting, cozy king-size bed - double closets with ample space - an antique writing desk - a Victrola radio player with blue tooth - a phone charging station The smaller bedroom includes: - two comfortable twin-size beds - another adorable, antique secretary desk All of our vintage and antique decor has been lovingly curated to showcase our unique and personal style (which we know you will enjoy as well!) THE FAMILY ROOM Downstairs we have a super comfy family room complete with: - a brand new 55” smart TV (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime) - a DVD player with many DVDs - lots of family games (including Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, Scattergories, Scrabble, etc.) - kid’s toys and puzzles - classic books including beautiful art and children’s books For a bit of nostalgia, we have: - a classic diner-style booth - a small vintage radio/jukebox tape player - some of our favorite tapes! - a full bath with a rustic sliding barn door - an additional room for laundry, which you are welcome to use! NATURE ABOUNDS The Fern Hill Lodge is located on absolutely gorgeous land. You can feel how magical it is once you step foot on the ground. Outside on our 20 acres, you can: - chill out on one of our two custom-built decks - fall in love with the local wildlife including majestic deer and sweet chipmunks - listen to the woodpeckers and hummingbirds buzz - relish in the stunning, natural foliage from ferns, oaks, or pines - enjoy the soothing, crackling fire pit - BBQ in delight below the magical night sky - take a long reset nap on one of our two comfy chaise lounges or swinging hammock - roast yummy marshmallows in our fire pit in the cascading front yard and more! For kids, we have: - a fun sandbox with toys - a little playhouse with a toy kitchen - lots of games in the shed including badminton and cornhole - bikes for kids - a sprinkler/small pool (during the warmer months) You are also welcome to explore all 20 acres of our beautiful land. There is pretty much something for everyone! Come enjoy all Mother Nature has to offer you. Guest access You will have access to the entire house (minus the storage room, unless you are doing laundry), and all 20 beautiful acres of our land. We also have a private road that you can walk up to enjoy more of the land. When there’s heavy rain, there’s a beautiful little marsh you can sit near and meditate in seclusion. We also have two private trails in the back which are available for you to explore. Beaver Brook weaves a beautiful little stream at the back of our property. Other things to note We offer one light continental breakfast which includes (but is not limited to) bagels, muffins, a variety of fresh fruit, granola bars, coffee, tea, juice, and milk. Please let us know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Our fireplace is now gas-powered. With a press of a button, you will have the warmth and light of a fireplace. If you'd like to make a real fire, please use our firepit in the front yard. Thank you. We do not give refunds due to weather-related conditions. Please keep in mind trash is carry-in/carry-out. You can drop off your trash at: Highland Transfer Station 475 State Route 55, Eldred, NY OPEN: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 7:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. There is a small fee per bag, however, we leave tickets for you to use at no cost. Lastly, our home is surrounded by forest. This means Mother Nature’s critters are abundant and sometimes they decide to book a room. While they are evicted once found out, they sometimes are hard to keep out. If mice, bees, wasps, spiders, and just anything crawly upsets you, this is not the place for you.
