NO KITCHEN, but we have a coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster oven, microwave, fridge, plates, and cutlery. We are 15 mins drive from Yale, 2 mins walk to the downtown bus, and easy cycling downtown. The Pearl, New Haven is an 850sqft hidden luxury experience along the Quinnipiac River, with high ceilings, bay windows & natural lights, loft unit. Must climb stairs to top floor. The Pearl was built in 1892, and recently redesigned by award-winning architects. The design pays homage to the area’s rich history as a prominent oyster port and leans on natural materials, layered textures, and vintage objects to deliver a clean and modern aesthetic, creating a beautiful tension between the old, and the new. We are on a tree-lined residential historic block, 2 minutes from the Quinnipiac River (not the beach). There are opportunities to Kayak, sail, cycle, bird watch, jog, fish, or for lunch. The Pearl is huge and has charmingly imperfect hardwood floors. We have a real claw-foot tub, but you are welcome to take a shower instead. And do expect some lavender, as we have a huge plant outside. We have seating for 6:-), in the living and dining rooms, and a window bench. We offer breakfast and dinner for a fee—as part of an experience coming soon on Airbnb—please ask during booking. Also, we can make our washer (in the basement) available for guests staying for a week, or more for a small fee. Before your booking, please confirm that our location works for you. This historic mid-19th century Queen Anne style home was built by a furniture builder for his wife. It was meant to be a show-stopper home near the oyster port, and it lives up to its reputation. Such a quiet oasis in the city, with nods to nature, 2 cardinal love birds that hang out on the crab-apple tree, amazing sunsets, and river views from large rear-facing large windows, lush greenery in the backyard, and a small vegetable garden. The block is an eclectic mix of nice people who say hello and know everyone:-), and the river is 2 minutes away. You are surrounded by culture and history, and there are food options at the end of the block, or via Uber Eats/delivery services. We have free street parking. Also, feel free to ask us if our driveway is available during your stay. Street cleaning days are : (i) Left side of the street (as you approach the house) 2nd and 4th Thursdays between 7 am-3:00 pm; (ii) Right side of the street (as you approach the house) 2nd and 4th Fridays between 7 am-3:00 pm. There are city buses on both ends of the block that take you straight downtown. Uber and Lyft are options too, so is cycling if you own a bike (and hopefully a helmet:-)) NO KITCHEN. Please if you feel unwell, or have been in contact with someone unwell, kindly defer your trip and come visit us later. This is a quiet residential street, please respect the vibe of the block, and keep the noise levels reasonable as we also live on the property. You will have to climb stairs to get to The Pearl on the top floor, so might not be suitable for persons with mobility issues. Once inside The Pearl, please be sure to securely close the door after you. We might be able to accommodate an early check-in, or late check out, for a fee. Please ask. My neighbor has guard dogs. They might bark, but they are never let out. Please tell the delivery personnel to use the back door for all Uber Eats/restaurant deliveries if you don't plan to meet them at the front of the house.
