Vintage Whidbey Cabin on Kiteboarding & Dog Beach!

Enjoy breathtaking views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, Shipping Lanes, the Seattle skyline and the North Cascades from this cozy, two-story beach cabin. The cabin is perched on a slight hill allowing for amazing views yet gives our guests direct access to the sugar sand beach and refreshing water of Useless Bay. Explore the miles of beach and take in all the wildlife including eagles, whales, Dungeness crab, seals, sea lions, countless bird species, fish, and much more! The space This unique property -- Double Bluff Beach Club -- boasts 200 feet of no-bank waterfront on over three acres of beach. Meander 1/4 mile down a private drive and ascend stone stairs to this piece of paradise perched about the trees. Soak in summer sun from a gorgeous, custom-built deck, or stroll along a sand and driftwood trail to the water's edge. On an enchanted evening, dine beneath the stars or head down to the fire pit to roast marshmallows, to tell stories and to sing songs around a campfire. Just outside the house is a partially covered patio complete with comfortable furniture, a barbecue grill, a dinner bell, a warm outdoor shower and lots of hooks to hang towels and gear from a memorable day at the beach. Inside you'll find all the comforts of home coupled with unique Island charm. This top-to-bottom remodel is beautiful, bright, and EVERY room has a view! Curl up on the comfy couch with a good book, play board games around the coffee table or simply kick back, take a nap and relax. The cabin features gleaming, original 1930's wood floors and a fully stocked kitchen/dining area with granite counter tops, bar stools and all-new stainless steel appliances. The family-friendly living room frames picture windows and just beyond it reside a 3/4 bathroom with a granite vanity, a linen closet and the main floor bedroom with a queen bed, new carpet, a built-in closet and that spectacular view! Descend the spiral staircase to the bunk room. The kiddos will go crazy over two custom bunk beds and two built-in berths, each with its own storage area and night light. The kids' room is complete with puzzles, games and ample room to play. The lower level also features new carpet, a second bedroom with a queen bed and its own private entrance, and a full bath with an over-sized washer and dryer. DBBC is located at Double Bluff Beach and County Park, a premier spot for outdoor water sports and activities including fishing, crabbing, clamming, kayaking, kiteboarding, skimboarding and paddleboarding. The cabin is minutes away from grocery shopping in Freeland and the Saturday Bayview Farmer's Market (late Apr-Oct). While you are here, be sure to visit Langley -- South Whidbey's charming, seaside village -- for strolling, shopping, whale watching and dining. Whidbey Island is a gem, home to magical memories and often referred to as 'the shortest distance to far away.' Many have been inspired and rejuvenated by this place, and year after year they continue to return. Double Bluff Beach Club is no different. We think you will LOVE it here! Please don’t book the Double Bluff Beach Club if you’re afraid of climbing stairs, afraid of nature, expect a 100% bug-free environment, or aren’t willing You are literally surrounded by a couple of hundred acres of beach and wildlife, which means serenity and grounding, as well as bugs or even an occasional mouse . The property is serviced by a professional pest control company but that is not 100% foolproof. The cabin is pretty private with just a couple of neighbors in the immediate area. Just a quarter-mile to the east there are a couple of hundred homes on much smaller postage stamp lots. Other things to note There are a lot of stairs to get from where you park your car to get to the front door. Please take this into consideration. Probably not the best spot for the elderly or guests with accessibility issues. I believe there are over 50 steps to get to the front door. We allow pets for an additional fee. Airbnb does not have a way for us to charge our pet fee so this will be added on after you book your reservation if you elect "instant booking." If you want an all-inclusive rate, request dates and we will send you a "special offer" to book the cabin. We do access the property and cabin on occasion for maintenance while a guest is staying due to how busy this rental is we can not always get support staff in between guests. We will always give guests notice if we need to perform maintenance and we always do our best to minimize noise or inconvenience. We do have another rental unit on the property which is a newer Airstream. If you have a group larger than 6-8 people or you just want a little more room to spread out, ask us about our Airstream rental which can accommodate up to 2 guests.
