Restored historic 1920’s home in real Atlanta neighborhood. Excellent location - perfect home base for Atlanta adventures. 7 adults - 8 max (can accommodate a few kids wth adults). Near best shopping in Southeast, great tourist activities, & many event venues. Perfect for 2 couples wth 4 kids, friend weekend & tourists! Walk or bike the famous Atlanta Beltline; quick drive to food and bev center; take a train to activities & event venues. Relax on big front porch and enjoy all 4 seasons! Atlanta is a true 4 season city. Fall brings bright blue skies and lots of sunshine - and great foliage! In addition to the colorful Fall Season - Hartford House is close to some of the best sightseeing and shopping in the Southeast! Hartford House is perfectly located for your home base while in the Atlanta area. We call Hartford House our "nice and comfy" home base. NICE because it has a few more details guests won't find in other rentals in the area, like a working gas fireplace, a roomy "sit and stay" front porch, a sunny and private side deck, and 3 sizes of beds. It's COMFY because guests are so comfortable they feel like they live here--and with just a few blocks to the train station and a few stops from the airport on the train, guests find the house to be the perfect home base for their business or leisure travel. Come visit and you will see why guests love Hartford House. Less than 3 miles from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, only a few blocks to the MARTA Train Station, and so close to Atlanta's tourist sites. 10 minutes to Fox Theatre and other Midtown points of interest, like the world famous Piedmont Park. Close to the MLK landmarks. Less than 10 minutes to the zoo, the world-class aquarium, and Downtown. 3 minutes to 3 of the best breweries (and distillery) in the city. Close to some great natural areas (Arabia Mountain, Cascade Springs, Sweetwater Creek, and relatively close Lake Lanier & Stone Mountain). Nestled under Atlanta's famous tree canopy, on a quiet street, you will have all the convenience of the city, while in a restful, and REAL, neighborhood. Come visit this nicely restored 1920's home in an historic neighborhood. We think you'll love it. Hartford House offers space for the entire family. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, front porch with cozy seating, side porch with deck chairs, along with all living spaces are for the comfort of our guests. The laundry area is available for guest use. Office area downstairs is private and not available for guest use---but it is not needed. There are plenty of other private and common areas for the use of guests. Owners occasionally need to access the office area during guest stays...guests will always be informed. Accessing the city is so easy from Hartford House -- guests can ride a bike to the Atlanta Beltline, walk a few blocks to the MARTA station, and jog up to Perkerson Park to enjoy nature or play tennis and get in a round of DISC golf. Local breweries are also very close when a tasty drink is desired. Hartford House is your home-away-from home - guests can quickly get comfortable on their own; but if you need more attentive service; in-person check-in and other personal services can often be arranged. Atlanta is a true FOUR season city. Right now, we are in the cozy winter season - which is still amazing in Atlanta. Winter still has lots of sun with blue skies. And definitely events and trade show seasons! Hartford House is close to some of the best events, sightseeing, and shopping in the Southeast. Take a staycation or vacation to one of the most underrated cities in the US. Atlanta truly is an exciting city. Still warm enough (relatively speaking) to enjoy outside activities and the zoo; and there are also tons of indoor activities, such as museums, shopping, and performances. Hartford House is in beautiful Capitol View, in Southwest Atlanta. Capitol View has one of the highest concentrations of trees in the city. And even though we are in a "park like" setting - we are in the perfect location for your city adventures. We are close to downtown - close to all the great sights and venues. You can get around using the train or Uber ... and if you drive your own personal vehicle - there is ample parking at the home and around the city. With this convenience comes some of the typical "city/urban" factors. it is possible for guests to see evidence of homelessness or other people on the street in front of the home. More likely you will see people working from home or kids playing in the street. It is rarely loud, but you might occasionally hear noise from the cars on the street. Our home is in a real residential neighborhood...you can wave to all the neighbors as you lounge on the huge front porch and live like a local surrounded by Atlanta's famous tree canopy. Capitol View was one of Atlanta's original neighborhoods designed specifically for working people and for streetcar travel. This intentional design ensured homes were of modest design and therefore were accessible to a wide range of residents, with a wide range of income levels. Luckily, the neighborhood remains diverse in this way. Diversity is a bonus that Capitol View has that other Atlanta neighborhoods have lost. We love that we can offer a great home for a price that makes exciting travel to Atlanta possible for anyone. The tree canopy in Southwest Atlanta is the densest in the entire city. Because of this, guests have a pastoral experience, even though they are minutes to downtown. And if the street trees are not enough, you can walk to one of Atlanta's park gems--Perkerson Park. Hartford House is a quick walk to the train station, and transit cards to borrow are available. The home is only a few minutes drive, or a few train stops, to and from the airport. Uber or Lyft can take you anywhere in the city, typically very inexpensively. And since Atlanta is still in most ways, a car-centric city, a car is a great way to get around the city. Capitol View is an amazing, tree-lined neighborhood with historical homes. The area is well known for it's unique tree canopy that few urban areas have. It his also known for it's front porches where life slows down and conversation with old and new friends can happen. We have a thriving neighborhood association and lots of community activities. This is one of the few Atlanta neighborhoods left with a diverse socioeconomic population. Those who live here, love it BECAUSE of this, not in spite of this. If you love urban neighborhoods, where REAL people walk to the train, sit on their porches, push strollers, take their dogs out for stroll, and wave at you from the car---this is a place for you! The House Rules provide all the information guests need to make a good choice about their lodging. And the host will provide some additional information when a booking is sent or an inquiry is made. Guests should pay special attention to check-in and check-out requirements, and also where the external cameras are located. They are also advised that booking requirements must be met prior to booking. Some of the main requirements are: Booking individual must be 25 years of age or older. The complete guest list (names and ages) must be provided before arrival. Booking individual must provide an ID prior to check-in. No guests from Fulton County, GA without prior approval. In most situations, a deposit will be required. If this is the case, a special offer may be sent by the host to take into consideration the extenuating circumstances of the stay.
