Enjoy the solitude and peaceful beauty of this private downstairs unit situated on Fumee Lake in Iron Mountain. This space is close to the many wonderful activities in the area. In summer, enjoy peaceful kayak cruises on Lake Fumee, or go 2 miles away to beautiful all sports Lake Antoine for boating and swimming. Nearby whitewater rafting as well. In Winter there is cross country skiing right out the back door and downhill skiing at Pine Mountain as well as Snowmobiling paths everywhere! The space This comfortable 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is a peaceful retreat from all the wonderful outdoor activities available in this magnificent area. Pets under 35 lbs welcome with a $95 pet fee for a one week stay. 25$ per pet per night for less than 7 nights. Guest access Guests have private entry into their own floor of a gorgeous home. They will also have their own dedicated porch area with gas grill and outdoor furniture. Kayaks are available for use on Fumee Lake as well. Fumee Lake is a non-fishing, non-motorized shallow spring-fed lake that is part of a quiet, peaceful undeveloped nature preserve. Kayaks need to be portaged approximately 300 feet from the house to the lake and back - partially through a cleared path and partially on a rugged path through rough terrain. There is no developed beach or dock, but plenty of wildlife - fish, frogs, turtles, geese, ducks, loons, and eagles. Lake Antoine, which is two miles north in Iron Mountain, is a larger, deeper lake with a full swimming beach, boat dock, and fishing. Other things to note 1 person in the party must be 25 or older to book. Pets under 35 lbs will be allowed with a pet fee and the understanding that either the pet will accompany the owners out of the house or be kept in a kennel. No pets on furniture or beds please. There is not a full kitchen with stove and oven in the unit. A refrigerator and small appliances are provided for convenience - toaster oven, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee maker, hot plate, Instant Pot, and indoor griddle are provided, along with the outdoor grill. No laundry facilities in unit. Public laundromats available in the downtown area.
