Retreat to The Village Hideaway, a cozy private efficiency with an ensuite bathroom for one or two guests. A private entrance makes it easy to come and go. The space is thoughtfully appointed providing all you'll need for a comfy stay including a mini frig, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and other kitchen essentials. Situated in the rear of the house, next to the parking lot. Enjoy the convenience to easily stroll downtown Saranac Lake for dining and shopping. A unique rental with a private entrance accommodates one or two people travelling for pleasure or business. There is a queen sized bed / murphy bed (linens and blankets provided), night stand, leather chair, side table, luggage rack and bench, clothes rack with hangers and hooks. Another chair (a rocker) is available should you want a second chair in your room - please ask. Enjoy the sweet little space in the room for preparing simple meals. It is well equipped with a compact refrigerator, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker and other kitchen essentials (mugs, glasses, wine glasses and opener, silverware, cutting board, etc.). Coffee, tea, honey, sugar and 1/2 & 1/2 provided. There is a small deck with a bistro table and chairs to sit outside during the warmer months. The Hideaway's ensuite bathroom has a shower (no tub). Bath essentials include towels, wash clothes, EO shower gel/shampoo, hand soap, and hair dryer. The adjacent room is the owner's Yoga Studio. The class schedule is very light with regular classes held weekdays only. Check our Inner Quest Yoga website. Note: We offer a 2nd efficiency for rent on Airbnb: The Nook 1BR efficiency - walk downtown. The main level of the building houses Mary's Inner Quest Yoga & Wellness Center Studio. Inner Quest offers a few weekday classes which may include yoga, stretch, mindful movement / Qi Gong and workshops at times. Guests may attend the weekday classes at a reduced rate of $10/pp (no classes on the weekends). Check the website and the schedule is posted in the mudroom as you enter the building. Mary and Kevin reside in the lower level of the house and respect the privacy of guests. Call, text, or knock on the sliding glass door on the driveway side of the house, if you need anything. Late arrivals are no problem. Access instructions will be provided for self-entry. We are happy to make recommendations for dining out, hikes, walks, road biking, x-c ski and snowshoeing treks. Also, check the guidebook via this site where we have noted some recommendations. You will find a book in the room with suggestions and brochures. The Hideaway is conveniently located a short walk from Saranac Lake's downtown shops, restaurants, and art galleries on Broadway, which turns into Main St. - take the sidewalk or walk down the rail trail behind the house. The village is quaint and safe. Located behind our building is BluSeed Studios featuring art exhibits, workshops, and live music performances. Across the street kitty corner is a small park with a tennis court and basketball court. A mile north is the village municipal beach, park and picnic area at Lake Colby (a lovely spot to watch the sunset) and a boat launch on lower Saranac Lake, which gives access to the spectacular Saranac chain of lakes. Our favorite restaurants in town to walk to are: The Blue Moon Café, The Left Bank Café (for a leisurely meal), Nona Fina's (Pizza and Italian), and Bitters and Bones. If you are here on a Mon, Tues, or Wed. try Anne's Crepes for brunch or lunch 10-2:00. A quick car ride: La Bella Restaurant (Italian) and a local in town brewery is The Blueline Brewery. In Lake Placid: Cafe Rustica. Check the dining guide in the room for sample menus. Folks have found the convenience of stores located across the street: The Dollar General, Kinney Drugs and a Wine and Spirits store. The town of Saranac Lake serves as a great vacation spot for outdoor enthusiasts, no matter the time of year! Nearby find great road or mountain biking, canoeing, hiking, fishing, snow shoeing and x-c skiing. Downhill skiers may explore Titus, Big Tupper and Whiteface Mountains each approximately a 30 minutes drive. Saranac Lakes’ history continues as a health and wellness getaway location. Like other guests you may want to explore the world renowned neighboring Olympic Village of Lake Placid - 10 miles. There of course the intrigue of the Olympic venue sites attracts many visitors year-round. Check out the Lake Placid Visitors Bureau website for festivities and 'things to do' there. Breath, relax, feel and be. Travel by bus on Adirondack Trailways and Cape Air to Saranac Lake Airport. You really do need a car to enjoy getting around to enjoy the great outdoors. We provide off-street parking in the back lot of the house. Guests have found it convenient and felt safe when bringing bikes, canoes and even small campers. Weekday guests are welcome to attend, at no extra charge, regular scheduled yoga classes with Mary. No classes on weekends as The Studio is also available to rent on Airbnb. Massage, Reiki, Sound Meditation and BioMat sessions are available on site by appointment.
