Quiet cabin in the piney woods of the Davy Crockett National Forest. 400 sq. ft. with all the comforts located on 12 acres. Come and enjoy our piece of the piney woods, the kitchen garden, and our lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The space Relax in the lawn chairs, nature/wildlife, and bird watching or take long walks around the property or into the National Forest. The cabin is located 3 miles from Ratcliff Recreation Area for more great hiking trails, lake swimming, fishing and kayaking. There is room for boat parking. Houston County Lake is 30 miles west, Lake Nacogdoches is 40 miles northeast, and Lake Sam Rayburn is 46 miles west. Walking distance to hunting within the National Forest. The cabin includes a queen size bed, bathroom with shower, recliners, 7.5 cf apartment-size refrigerator/freezer, coffee station, 7-gallon water heater, stove and microwave. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, dishes, flatware, etc. Wi-Fi and a smart TV (no cable/satellite) available to use with your personal Hulu/Amazon information. Included is a Netflix account. Twin air mattress available upon request to accommodate an additional 1-2 people. Linens and complimentary toiletries provided. Lufkin is 30 miles away with plenty of shopping and restaurants. The Ellen Trout Zoo, Texas Forestry Museum, Narajo Museum-Natural History, and Kiwanis Park are a few of the favorites. Nacogdoches, self-proclaimed the oldest town in Texas, is home of Stephen F Austin State University. Along with the many historical houses, the downtown area is full of charming little shops. The calendar is full of events such as the Azalea Trail, Blueberry Festival, Pineywoods Fair, and many more. We live onsite and normally are available or a quick call/text away in case you need anything. We are always happy to meet and visit with our guest but want to honor those looking for complete privacy. Guest access This is a full cabin all to your own. Plenty of parking space on premises. Boat parking available. Small vegetable garden onsite with seasonal produces. Propane grill and picnic table on site. Other things to note HOUSE RULES: No smoking inside the cabin. Check-in time is 2 pm Check out time is 11:00 am No parties. ACCESSIBILITY: The cabin is located over a mile down a gravel/dirt road maintained by the Forest Service. We are not handicapped accessible at this time. We highly recommend that you identify our location on a roadmap and bring the roadmap with you for back up as certain cell/GPS signals are spotty in this area. Verizon works onsite.
