Ellis Lake Resort is known for its cute, cozy, and authentic log cabin lodging built in 1939. We are a step back in time when life was simple. If you love being in nature then you will love us. We are a classic Northern Michigan experience. The space As you walk into the Doghouse log cabin you are welcomed into a rustic space of quiet charm and classic log cabin features. This is our smallest cabin. It has a combination living room/kitchen/bedroom and a separate bathroom with a shower and toilet (shared sink in kitchenette). This allows for comfortable sleeping, plenty of relaxation in the living area along with a small fully stocked kitchenette with all the essentials. The Doghouse will accommodate 2 adults and 2 small children, or 3 adults with the queen bed and double futon. This cabin also has a Franklin wood stove as a nice addition for those cooler nights or for just having a romantic fire. WIFI is located near the office area. Our year round cabin offers air conditioning for the hot summer days and nights and a gas furnace for warmth to take the chill of winter away. For your outdoors enjoyment you have your own private charcoal grill, picnic table and fire pit. From you cabin door it is just a short walk to our waterfront area on Ellis Lake or to our outdoor (common share) hot tub located in the woods beneath the pines and stars (sign up board located outside office for 1 hour of private usage). We do allow up to 2 dogs in this cabin. The fee is $30/dog/night. This is an additional fee to be paid in the office prior to departure.
