Located off the Chesapeake/Mobjack Bay, 8 miles east of Mathews, this stand alone, over-the-garage apartment offers privacy, 2 sitting areas. It is an excellent location for kayakers. Lots of scenic paddles. Kayaks available for rent. Yorktown Beach is a 45 minute drive. Lots of antique shops in Mathews. Beaverdam park is close for hiking. Lots of scenic paddles. 2 lighthouses in paddling distance. 5 launches closeby, more further out. Kayaks available for rent. We offer tours. Lots of beaches: Bethel Beach, Haven Beach, Festival Beach, New Point Comfort Lighthouse beach... Yorktown Beach is a 45 minute drive. Lots of antique shops in Mathews. Beaverdam park is close for hikers. Please note, Virginia Beach is 2 hours away. Guest access Separate space, stair access. There are 14 stairs. Behind garage on the left. Located in a remote, rural area close to the water 8 miles East from the town of Mathews. Other things to note We are a 1.5 - 2 hour drive to Virginia Beach. However there are some very nice local beaches. Kayak tours and rentals available on site. We also rent SUP's. In the efficiency kitchenette we provide fridge, toaster, drip coffeemaker, induction burner (1 burner), microwave and Air Fryer/Toaster oven. No traditional oven/stove. If you want to do a lot of cooking this is not the space for you. We are on well water, it is filtered but contains iron. 2 gallons of spring water in fridge. The space is not child proofed and is probably not suitable for children under 6 or so.
