Our little piece of heavan is located 9 miles NW of Viroqua, WI. Our yurt is nestled in 14 acres of red /white oak, walnut and maples above the Bad Axe River. The yurt is 300 sq. ft, comfortably sleeps 4, pet friendly and has a large wrap around deck. We have a wood burning stove, propane cooking stove top, a fully stocked kitchen galley, 8 gallons of drinking / cooking water, propane and fire pit grill, there's an extra deck with picnic table, manual shower and composting toilet. We're located on 14 acres of old growth forest situated above the Bad Axe River valley. The views to the south over the valley are stunning. The property is very secluded besides driving past our Amish neighbors farmsteads. The area has great trout fishing streams, hiking, Runge Lake is one mile away, a local winery and a lot of great shops and restaurants in Viroqua to check out. Besides the yurt and deck space, there is a short path along the ridge line, a clearing w. fire pit for evening fires (please douse all fires when not monitored) and a second 300 sq. ft. deck that is shaded for hot afternoons. Cell service can be limited and I will not be on site during your stay unless I am in the area fishing so please plan accordingly. I will do my best to address any issues the same day. I will send you directions and there are google earth maps in photo section to assist. There are orange "YURT" signs posted at the access road and the property access lane. We have Amish neighbors whose farmstead you will drive through to access our property. They are very friendly and can answer questions on the area, but we ask you respect their privacy and their traditions so please NO photographs of them or their children. They often have grazing horses and sheep along with children playing along the road so please drive slowly. The Duck Egg Reserve is also nearby with great fishing, hiking, horseback riding and other activities within a few miles. There is a parking pad that is located 50 yards from the yurt. The yurt is very secluded and people are finding it a perfect option for a get away during Covid-19. We are committed to meeting the Airbnb cleaning protocols and providing guests a clean/safe environment. We have also put a 24 hour separation period between guests in place per CDC guidelines. The yurt is pet friendly so while we do our best to thoroughly clean between guests you might see pet hair from a previous guests' pet. ATTENTION WINTER GUESTS. Access to the parking pad at the end of our lane could be inhibited if we receive large amounts of snow. We will watch the weather and arrange for the neighbor to clear a parking spot in front of their garage. You will then need to walk into the yurt which is roughly 1/4 mile. We will provide a sled to make transporting items easier.
