Welcome to your escape in the stunning Canadian shield. The cottage was built in 2017 with simplicity and comfort in mind. This bright, cozy space highlights what you have really come to experience - a retreat that basks in the beauty of one of Canada’s most amazing spots. Swim, explore, relax, eat and enjoy a nighttime fire. The space This cottage is located on Bobs Lake about 45 minutes from Kingston, Ontario. Two hours from Ottawa and three hours from Toronto. Enjoy the views from 300 ft of waterfront and the deep, clean swimming off of the dock. All that adventuring is best balanced with a healthy dose of relaxing in a hammock, an outdoor dinner on the deck and a warm nighttime bonfire. The cottage is 1000 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. While not large, it is designed to take advantage of stunning scenery and provide you the guest with all the convenience of modern amenities. We provide a paddleboard, a two person kayak and a canoe. Don’t let the name fool you, Bobs Lake is one of the best Ontario lakes to explore. Less populated than some other cottage locations and small islands make for an amazing canoe or kayak. The Eastern exposure of the cottage provides beautiful views of the sunrise. We believe that when on vacation you should be able to experience a wonderful sleep. All bedrooms are equipped with comfortable and high quality bedding..The bedrooms have a king, queen and bunk beds. The cottage location is a little off the ‘beaten path’, guests should be comfortable with one lane, gravel, hilly cottage roads - please ask us about this! The roads are safe for all vehicles, but can be a surprise to those of us who are used to highways and city streets. Let us know if you are planning to tow a boat and we can discuss the best location for launching. The cottage is very private and you are more likely to see chipmunk neighbours than human ones. Our property is bordered by other cottages, but all 300 ft of waterfront is private. Our neighbours are amazing and helpful and we ask that guests keep noise level down and drive slowly on local roads. The cottage is ideal for groups of 4 adults with 2ish kids. Groups with 6 adults can be accomodated, but large groups of adults will want to go elsewhere. There is a bunkie, but this is not normally included in the rental. Please contact us if you would like to include this. The sloped path to the water has been crafted into a gravel path, but please know that the surrounding ground is naturalized and can be rocky. We love this about the location, but it may pose a hazard to those with mobility challenges or those with very small children. Please also note that the shoreline is rocky and water entry is off the dock and is deep. There are life jackets available. The cottage is the ideal place to completely unplug and escape ‘real’ life, but internet is provided. Be aware that cell service can be unreliable. Guest access The only areas of the property that are unavailable for guests are a small shed and the bunkie. Other things to note **There is a 7 day minimum booking during high season (June-September). Please note that the rental period is Friday - Friday to allow us to plan our cleaning schedules. **There is space for two vehicles down by the house, a third vehicle can be left at the top of the driveway. **The exact address of the cottage is not yet listed on maps - we will provide the directions. **If you are celebrating something special - anniversaries, birthdays, honeymoons - let us know!
