English Garden Cottage.

Welcome to our cottage in historic Fountain City. It's very convenient with downtown Knoxville, Neyland Stadium, the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, and The University of Tennessee 10 minutes away. We are 8 miles from House Mountain. We're also close to Gatlinburg, Dollywood (36miles), and the Smoky Mountain National Park. The space Our cottage is one of five cottages built in the 1930s and 1940s by Miss Edith Stewart Miller from England. This cottage was the one she resided in and built her English rock garden. She was quite the character and never quit working and changing her home and garden. You now can come and enjoy her cottage and garden. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen with a great stove and griddle, washer and dryer, furnished front porch for lazy days and quiet evenings, and a fire pit which is great on crisp fall evenings and cool spring nights. We do have some firewood , but it is not a unlimited supply. Feel free to pick extra up at a home store or Kroger. The cottage is a small 1000 sq ft home, but perfect for 2 adults and 2 children and I will allow a infant as a 5th person, you can have 4 adults but it will get tight. Please let me know if you will be needing the trundle bed so I can have it pulled out for you. There is a pack and play available as well. I do not allow extra people on air mattresses or on the sofa. Thank you for understanding. There is no smoking or vaping of any kind inside. Outside only. If the cottage has been smoked in there will be a 350.00 fine. No pets and no parties or events. Quiet hours starting at 10:00 PM. All guest not listed on the itinerary has to be pre approved by the host. This includes dinner guest and unplanned drop ins. Guest access The entire cottage. The property is for your enjoyment, but please note that we reserve the right to come onto the property to take care of yard maintenance , take trash to and fro for pick up on Tuesday’s, yard mowing, weeding and watering. We do our best to inform guest that this will occur, but it is not always possible. Other things to note The home has a key that will be left for you , so check in will be at your convenience. I will be in contact with you within a day or so of your check in with location and any other check in instructions you may need. I will make sure you have coffee, tea, sugar and cream. And I have filtered water There is high speed Wi-Fi and a 50 inch smart TV with Netflix and YoutubeTV for your favorite network streaming, and a Bluetooth speaker so you can sync your phone or tablet and enjoy your choice of music. Please respect our house rules of no smoking or vaping indoors, no pets, and no parties or events and quiet hours which begin and 10:00 PM, so please keep outside noise to a minimum for the neighbors. Also, anyone wanting to come onto the property, not listed in the itinerary of guest for the stay, has to be pre approved by the host. This includes dinner guest and unplanned drop ins.
