A furnished basement room with a queen bed is available, and it's only a 5-10 minute drive to Hancock downtown. The space Throughout the house, there are smart home automation features available. The fully furnished basement room is available for rent, granting you the freedom to access the entire 1262 sq ft basement, which includes a bathroom, dryer, and laundry machine. If you are here on a business trip, the basement could serve as the perfect place to prepare for your daily meetings, including ironing your shirts. During the summer, the basement can be damp, so dehumidifiers are kept on to ensure a comfortable stay. In the winter, the furnace is powered by a water heating system, causing the pipes to contract and expand, generating a subtle ticking sound from the boiler. This may be noisy for light sleepers. Lastly, please be advised that there is a friendly, non-barking Shiba Inu dog present in the home. The dog is restricted to the first floor, ensuring you have complete privacy in the rental basement. Guest access A fully furnished kitchen with all the necessary equipment, including pots, pans, silverware, glasses, plates, sink, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator, is available for your use. If you plan to cook, kindly coordinate with me beforehand to ensure that you are informed about any safety-related concerns. Access to WiFi is provided for guests, and free street parking is available. You will have complete access to the entire house, including the living room, kitchen, dining room, and other areas, as well as a washer and dryer. Soap and hair dryer will be provided, but please inform me if there are any safety-related concerns and ensure that you are briefed on how to use the kitchen and laundry facilities. During your stay I do have teaching obligation and research activities going on each day and have different schedules over the week. However, you can choose to interact with me as little or as much as you want. I am pretty responsive in messaging and can be reached by Airbnb in case if you need anything. Other things to note As a host, I am typically available and happy to provide hospitality to my guests. However, there may be times when I am out of town and unable to attend to guests (on average, approximately 0.5 times per month throughout the year). I understand that this may cause some inconvenience during check-in, and I am willing to offer a full refund if necessary. In the past, I used to charge an extra $15 fee for additional guests. However, if you are traveling with two people, I will no longer charge this fee. Instead, I kindly ask that you turn off the lights in the basement and be mindful of your water usage. Your attention to energy and water conservation would be greatly appreciated. If you require two beds, please let me know at the time of booking. As an open-minded host, I have hosted more than a hundred guests over the years, and each guest has taught me something new about how to prepare for future guests.
