Hamilton House is a two-story 1915 home in the St. Clair Place neighborhood just east of downtown Indianapolis. It has good bones, original woodwork, and hardwood floors. It’s a fun work in progress! The Surf Room is spacious and accommodating. Downtown dining, museums, parks, and entertainment begin in less than a mile. Bike lanes and urban welcome cyclists. Two bikes are available for guest use. No fee. No cleaning fees. The space The surf-themed guest room includes a full-size bed, HEPA air purifier, small refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso coffee maker (hallway), ice maker (hallway), TV with DVD and VCR players (and 100+ VHS/DVD movies), retro-style record player, two chairs, a desk—and a lava lamp to boot! A 32” computer monitor is available upon request (no fee). The hallway guest bathroom may be shared with another AirBnB guest who may be staying in the adjacent Bike Room. Guest access Keyless, no contact entry. Code provided prior to check in. Guests have shared access to main floor living spaces: music room, living room, dining room, and kitchen. These are our daily living spaces which we are pleased to share with guests. Guests have access to two bicycles (with locks and helmets) that are available for exploring downtown and nearby urban trails. Just ask to use the bikes and I will prepare them for you. Per AirBnB protocols, there are NO security cameras inside the house. We DO have one security camera on the front porch and one for the backyard. During your stay I enjoy interacting with guests. Recently retired, I am often at Hamilton House; if not, I’m usually not far away. I have meetings for part of many evenings, but try to be available at some point each evening. I love this city and neighborhoods and can recommend places to go, dine, drink, play, etc. Other things to note When requesting to stay, please provide a brief personal introduction and the nature of your visit. This is important to us. We only accept guest requests from those who reside outside the metro Indianapolis area. We only accept guest requests from those who have previous AirBnB stays and positive reviews from other AirBnB hosts. We have four pets—two dogs and two cats. Sheffield is a 6 year-old, 50 lb. labradoodle. He is trained and harmless, but gets very excited when guests enter (he thinks every guest needs a hug). He barks loudly, but will calm down shortly. We also have taken in a stray 16 lb. blonde terrier. Muppy is a sweet dog, but yappy. Our cats Willie Mae (brown) and Roger (gray) are indoors only. Both dogs bark at people and animals through the windows during daytime hours. So, while our home is a place of love for fur babies, it is not completely quiet during daytime hours. They ARE quiet at night. If you bring a pet (extra fee), it must be crated at all times when you are away from the premises. Pets are not allowed unattended in common areas of the house. One 2nd floor guest room is available for one or two guests. A third guest is possible as a single-person air mattress is available. There is a $19 fee for a third guest. This space is not appropriate for children infant through age 12. No visitors. No guests not registered directly via AirBnB. No parties. No smoking or vaping in the house (you are welcome to smoke or vape on the front porch or backyard). No weapons. A guest bicycle is available upon request (no fee).
