On a tree-lined street w/ bike path leading to Biscayne Bay & Nature Preserve, Apt is just 3 miles to closest beach & 10 more miles to famous South Beach w/ many fun activities! Born in Miami Beach, host loves to make your visit great! This 2 bedroom/2bathroom APARTMENT IS SHARED BY THE HOST, who occupies the Master bedroom with its own bathroom. Guests have the guest room & guest bathroom to themselves, as well as access to living room & balcony screened porch. There are No kitchen privileges. The space *** Please take the time to read the first paragraph below AND everything in the next section, titled "Guest Access". *** There is a lot more information to read, if you so desire, and the answer to just about any question you could possibly have can be found in the sections below. If you don't like to read, you can always email questions directly to me, and I will answer within 24 hours. ================================== There are NO kitchen privileges, but coffee/tea and bakery product like croissants or toast/butter/jam is provided by the host in the mornings. There is NO MICROWAVE, however, small amounts of beverages or cold foods like salads or sandwiches can be stored in the refrigerator by guests. The Arch Creek East Nature Preserve at the end of the street is adjacent to, and leads into, the FIU (Florida International University) campus, where the trail meanders through green fields with palm trees, sea grape and other mature trees, with sculptures interlaced between campus buildings and the calm waters of Biscayne Bay. Beyond the campus is Oleta State Park, where kayaks, bicycles and paddle boards can be rented. You can lounge by the pool here, or soak up the sun, play in the surf, and people-watch at any of the near-by beaches. Bay Harbor Islands and the closest beach is located 3 short miles away (less than a 7-minute ride by car). The very popular beach of Sunny Isles is an easy 10 minutes away. Another popular beach, just south of Sunny Isles is Haulover Beach, which has crystal clear waters, tall swaying palm trees and a mile and a half stretch of nice sandy beach. Located at Haulover is a Regional Park with ample parking. There is a full- service marina, tennis courts, 9-hole family golf course, a sundries shop, concession trucks, a kite shop & a bark park all located within the Haulover Park. Travel south, less than 10 miles from Haulover to famous South Beach (or SoBe as the locals call it), the place to see and be seen, with so much to do there! Bike, roller blade, rent a Vespa or Segway...or just walk along the picturesque Deco Drive. Frolic in the azure waters; surf, boggie-board or body-surf the waves; jetskis can be rented for fast rides on the ocean and wave-jumping. Rent a giant umbrella & beach lounge chairs or lay out a beach towel and be a sand lizard...basking in the warm sun (don't forget sunscreen on the tops of your feet and ears...places most forgotten, but most painful when sunburned!). Take a stroll along the popular outdoors Lincoln Mall, with tons of shops, restaurants and bars. A great place to sit with a cool drink and people-watch! There are a plethora of restaurants with every kind of cuisine within 2 miles of the apartment: Flannigan's, Red Lobster, Panera Bread, Alaska Roasting Company, Evios (great gyros), Steve's New York Style Pizza (Sit down restaurant with outside patio, open 'til 2am every night - 4 am on Fridays & Saturdays!), IHOP (Open 24 hours), P.F. Changs, Suki Sushi, Houston's, Morton's Steakhouse, The Olive Garden, TGIFridays, Pei Wei, Basilic Vietnamese Grill, Chipotle Mexican, Rice House of Kabob, and Denny’s…to name a few. There are also lots of fast food places (like Subway, Pollo Tropical, McDonalds, Wendy's, Jamba Juice, and Dunkin Donuts), peppered among some of the restaurants listed above. Also nearby are the FIU campus, Mater Charter campus, (2) Publix grocery stores, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, 24-hour Walgreens, Navarros & CVS drugstores, Ross Dress for Less stores, TJ Maxx, Target, Costco Wholesale Warehouse, and a Starbucks which is right at the corner of my street and Biscayne Blvd (the main North-South thoroughfare, also known as US1). 6 miles away is the Aventura Mall, the largest indoor mall in South Florida, for a “shop til you drop” experience, with even more restaurants, and you can also see movies there at the AMC 12 (with IMAX) theatres. As there is so much to see and do all around South Florida, to get around without limitation I would STRONGLY suggest renting a car. However, you can reach any destination by bus (it just takes a lot longer to get where you're going). Bar renting a car, there's UBER & LYFT. Download the app and order a car to take you wherever you want to go. Prices run around $2.00-2.50/mile and they usually arrive here within 10-15 minutes. The apartment is equi-distance from both airports, located about a 30 minute drive away (by car, Uber or Lyft), either way. Late check-in is fine, just send a text or email if there is a delay in your flight, to assure I will be home to meet you. ************************************************** Guest access The one room for rent in my Apartment can accommodate one or two people (who have booked together only). Two is the Maximum allowed occupancy - No children or pets are allowed. Here are the details about the space: * The room measures 12 feet by 13 feet and has a separate closet equipped with hangers, iron and steamer for guest use. The main closet along the wall is not to be used, as it is already full with items belonging to host. * There is one Queen Size bed, which measures approximately 60 inches wide x 78 inches long. If you are a couple of larger size, please take into consideration the dimensions of the bed listed above, for your own comfort. * There is a bedside table and lamp, with USB and AC outlets and there are of books & magazines to read while you're here, if you like. * Desk, lamp & office chair * Free Wireless Internet service * Full Bathroom with tub, adjacent to room (accessed right outside the bedroom from the hallway) * Body soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and hair dryer provided * For 2 week stays, or longer, fresh towels and a change of sheets will be provided every 7 days. You may leave the used towels and sheets in the hallway and they'll be picked up for washing late afternoon. * Pool and lounge chairs * Laundry facilities (paid) on the first floor of the building, open 24/7. You pay for the machines, $2.25/wash and $2.25/dry, but I can provide laundry soap at no charge. * One assigned parking space for guest parking. Space is marked A2 * In the kitchen, the coffee maker and toaster is available for guest use. Small amounts of beverages and cold food, like salads and sandwiches, can be stored in the refrigerator. There is no microwave and NO cooking allowed. NO FOOD is to be stored in the bedroom. There are no bugs in my place, and I want to keep it that way. Please keep the bedroom and bathroom clean during your stay. Thanks so much... :-) *There is a special non-duplicable key for the security entrance into the building itself. A $100 pass-through charge (the amount I need to pay to replace the key) will be charged and deducted from the security deposit if the key is not returned back to me before checking out. Usually not an issue, but need to let you know up front... CHECK-IN is after 3:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) - up to 10:00 PM. CHECK-OUT is at 11:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time) There is a strict cancellation policy: NO refunds (partial or full) will be made after guests have confirmed reservation and paid through AirBnB. If you need anything After 9:00 am or Before 11:00 pm - and I'm in my room - just knock. During your stay My real estate career keeps me very busy, however whenever possible I would love to play tour guide, as I am a native Floridian (born in Miami Beach) and know this area - and many others throughout the state - like the back of my hand! I can tell you about great places to go and tons of fun things to do while here! Tell me what your interests are, and I'll give you useful information and point you in the right direction Guest can choose either a small pot of coffee or a variety of teas in the morning. I usually have some sort of bread product - like bagel, croissant, or English Muffins for example - to share, as well as some sort of fruit to eat at breakfast. Half & half or almond milk, honey, agave, stevia, raw sugar, butter and jams will also be available for guest use HOURS: I usually stay up somewhere between 11:00 pm and midnight, and wake up between 8:00 to 8:30am. If you are an early riser, please let me know in advance. I will not be rising earlier but can put the coffee pot on a timed brew (if you drink coffee) and you are free to come and go (quietly please) as you please. I am very quiet at night so as not to disturb early risers This neighborhood is perfect for jogging and there's even a boot camp exercise course on the FIU campus close, if you have interest. Of course, you're on vacation, so if you're here to relax no worries, chill to your heart's content! Other things to note PRICING RATES: Following are the rates you can expect for night, weekend, holidays and full week stays. Longer stays will be quoted based on length of stay: BASIC RATES are for one guest. Listed Price on AirBnB site is for ONE person only. Additional person is $30 more per night. NOTE: No more than two people can be accommodated in this rental. No children (including infants) or pets allowed...sorry. If you are ready to make an Instant Decision, let me know...for last minute extended stays of over one week, I may be able to provide you with a slightly lower rate than listed. This rate will be offered Only once and good for Only 24 hours, after which time it will be withdrawn. CANCELLATION POLICY The following cancellation policy is strictly enforced: Once the confirmation of booking has been exchanged between guest(s) and host, and no longer showing available on the calendar for other guest to rent, there will be No refunds. TEMPERATURE I keep the apartment at 74 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, whenever I'm home and 71 degrees at night for sleeping. I keep a blanket and extra throws in the room being rented, just in case 71 is a little cold for someone. For fresh air aficionados, I have no problem with them leaving the window in that room open to sleep At Night, as long as the a/c vent above the door is shut, and the door to the room is kept closed. The window in the room absolutely needs to be kept closed during the daytime hours, when hot air from outside can come in. Other Things to Note: Two (2) bath towels, one (1) hand towel and one (1) wash cloth per guest stay will be provided. The queen-size bed will come with one (1) set of sheets, one (1) light comforter, one (1) king and two (2) standard pillows (of various firmness) and a top comforter with matching sham. The king pillow is goose down, so please advise if allergic, so it can be stored elsewhere. Also available for use: large beach towels, folding beach chair and large beach umbrella. * Sorry-NO smoking, drugs, children or pets allowed. * Please be considerate of owner by limiting noise before 8:00 am or after 11:00 pm during the workweek (Monday-Thursday nights) * The Only items in the apartment that are to leave the premises (and be returned) are the beach towels, umbrella & folding chairs. Any missing items will be charged a replacement charge out of the deposit AirBnB collects up front. * ONLY plastic or paper cups or containers of any kind are allowed in the pool area. No cups, glasses, dishes or bowls are allowed to be taken from the apartment to the pool or anywhere else. * There will be a replacement charge for any damaged (broken, chipped, torn, ripped, stained or bleached) item(s), including towels and/or bed linen.
