Or the 'Wooden Barrel' country store for essentials, wine and beer, pizza and authentic country feel. 5. Rutland - 15 min drive. Plenty of options there from national chain restaurants to locally owned eateries (Check out Rutlandvermont.com). Brix Bistro is a great place to start right across from the train station (great small plates - yummy/ interesting wine selection by the glass) and other local favorites include Little Harry's (imaginative, diverse menu, kitchen open till 10pm), Table 24 (menu with choices for everyone, large bar area, open Wed-Sat 5-9pm) , and Ramunto's Pizza (independ and separate from other Ramunto lacations, consistent favorite of our guest for take-out). 5. Pico/Killington - 20/30 min drive. At Pico: The Inn at Long Trail for Irish fair and flair and great casual dining, a place not to be missed! Our favorites in Killington include Liquid Art Coffee House (great lunch, light dinners, nice wines and cocktails in gallery type setting); The Garlic, (local favorite for eating at the bar, delicious not only Italian food); Sushi Yoshi (for -well, take a guess) or the Birch Ridge Inn for more of a fine dining experience, and if you like great pizza don't miss Domenic's (the upscale pizza joint)! 6.
