Turrock Cottage is situated on the Tinahely to Clonegal leg of the Wicklow Way, with views over Sth Wicklow and Nth Wexford, within a farmyard and close to the house where we live. Perfect for exploring SE Ireland or staying put and admiring the view in the beautiful heart of Co. Wicklow. The views say it all and you will want to return to Turrock Cottage again and again. The space Turrock Cottage is a beautiful granite stone cottage set in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. It is a peaceful place with local forest walks where you can see deer, red squirrels, fox, hare and many birds. The cuckoo visits in early May. A perfect base for guests attending weddings at Ballybeg House,Lisnavagh House or Mount Wolseley Hotel. We are a 12 minute drive to Ballybeg and 15 minutes to both Lisnavagh and the Mount Wolseley. For walkers we are close to the Tinahely loop walks which cater for walkers of levels. If you wish to stay closer to the cottage,the Wicklow Way passes by the front gate so you can experience a section of the Way either heading for Tinahely via the Dying Cow Pub or south to Clonegal, where the trail starts or finishes depending on which direction you are travelling. Also a hike from the cottage to the top of Stookeen Hill is well worth the journey. Guest access The cottage is fully equipped as a self catering cottage. We have a woodland walk through our property that guests are welcome to explore. We provide a starter pack of fuel for the stove (wood and eco logs) and fuel is available for purchase at the shop in Shillelagh village. The starter pack should keep you going for a couple of days. Other things to note Internet access is unavailable at present.
