The space Situated on a small estate to the north of the village, Orchard Road studio apartment combines traditional ironstone architecture with contemporary interior design to provide elegant, spacious accommodation, easy access and an excellent base from which to discover the area. With heating and hot water provided through a solar-powered air-source heat pump, the apartment also boasts very high eco credentials in a warm, comfortable environment. The kitchen area includes a kettle, toaster and fridge (with ice box) - plus a combined microwave/conventional oven with grill. All cutlery and crockery is provided, together with a good range of cooking utensils. A folding table and two chairs can be found stored in the utility cupboard together with an ironing board and steam iron and the bedroom also includes a full-size wardrobe and chest of drawers. The outside sitting area also has its own table and two chairs where guests can eat - or simply relax. The accommodation offers free use of a fast wi-fi broadband service, with several USB charging points, a Roberts' digital radio - plus a 30-inch Samsung TV and Humax satellite receiver offering over 200 channels plus On Demand and Catch-up services. The luxury shower includes a large central shower head, hand-held spray head plus individual body jets. An automatic hair drier with an integral shaver point is also provided in the shower room, together with the requisite towels, soaps, shampoos and conditioners. In addition to offering cloakroom facilities, a vestibule provides full separation of the living accommodation from the outside drive where 24-hour free parking is available. Additional street parking is also possible. The studio features oak flooring on a single level, throughout. There is a low step from the drive up to the apartment, but a ramp is available (on request) for those with limited mobility. This gives the accommodation excellent ‘eco’ credentials and a very low carbon footprint, reflected in its Ofgem.gov Domestic RFI grant status. Combined with high levels of wall and ceiling insulation, double glazing and door seals, the apartment is exceptionally warm and comfortable in winter and cool in summer.
