This cabin was originally the cooking preparation area for Camp Miramichee Dining Hall. There are pictures of the camp in the cabin. The cabin is simple but so delightful, and peaceful. The Crickets do sing at night! This cabin has hosted anniversary celebrations as well as couples, families, girls weekenders etc. The Cabin is about a 2-3 minute walk to the River. The space We have access to the Southfork of the Spring River via a quick drive across the creek just outside the cabin.(it's too slick to walk across) Our friends own the property over there. The River is great for tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. The river is always refreshing and for canoeists and kayakers, there are class II and III rapids. The Southfork is less scary than the full Spring River for young children (6 and up) but exciting enough for older teens too. There is a yard next to the cabin for children to play in and also a campfire ring for nightly sing-a-longs, or ghost stories. Lawn Chairs are provided in the cabin. There are two charcoal grills one in the screened in porch and one next to the screened in porch. Hardy Town is just about a 5 minute drive from the cabin and has a multiplicity of stores, eateries, Three Rivers Outfitters, and antique stores. There is a WalMart in Ash Flat, a Movie Theater in Highland and a McDonalds in Hardy. In Cherokee Village is my favorite restaurant, Carol's Lakeside. Great food and you will not go home hungry!!! Guest access You will have full access to the house, screened in porch, Lawn chairs etc. I do not have firewood for the campfire, you would have to bring that. There is some Charcoal in the grey bin and also some lighter fluid and fire tools in the cabinet next to the kitchen. Make sure to bring sunscreen and also insect repellant. There are fans in each bedroom and also in the living area. Table and four chairs in the dining area. Other things to note You are in the woods of sorts. Be sure to check well for ticks. Chiggers live in the grass and while I have sprayed the yard your use of lawn chairs and insect repellant and sunscreen will go a long way to making your stay more enjoyable.
