Red Brick Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast is a 3 acre country retreat nestled on an 180 acre farm, in the picturesque rural outskirts of Higginsville, Missouri. This 1920's prairie style farmhouse, with its original 9 1/2 foot ceilings and old pine floors has been carefully renovated to recapture the charm of a bygone era. You are first greeted by the charming front porch, perfect for relaxing and viewing the yard with its dozens of mature shade trees and surrounding fields. GUEST SPACE - In addition to the large yard where you can stretch your legs and refresh your mind, the Farmhouse offers a quaint dining room that seats eight guests and a living room that includes a game table and cozy seating around the fireplace. Of course, do not forget enjoying sitting on the back patio or relaxing on the front porch with your favorite beverage. GUEST ROOM - Emma's Room is 16 ft by 12 ft, featuring a queen size, antique brass bed with luxury mattress, ceiling fan, sitting area, and a writing desk. This is a second floor bedroom with 2 beautiful windows overlooking the scenic grassland and pond. GUEST ACCESS - Guests may park on the west side of the circle driveway for the nearest convenience to the front porch entrance. You may enter the Bed & Breakfast by way of the front porch. Also you are welcome to sit on our large front porch in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee or in the late evening to enjoy the stars, weather permitting of course. OUR OWN RESTAURANT - Just down the road 5 miles and into Higginsville, is our very own restaurant, Red Shanty BBQ & Roadside Cafe, open Wed and Thurs, 11am to 9pm and Fri and Sat, 11am to 10pm (closes 1 hour earlier during the winter). The restaurant is available for dining in, taking out and catering. If we can help with any suggestions or ideas to make your visit more relaxing, entertaining, comfortable or enjoyable, please do not hesitate to ask. GETTING AROUND - Red Brick Farmhouse is located just 10 minutes north of I-70 at the 13 Highway Exit (Exit 49). The Farmhouse is 1 hour and 15 minutes from Kansas City International Airport, 60 minutes from the Country Club Plaza, 55 minutes from downtown Kansas City, and just 45 minutes from the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs Stadium. SIGHTSEEING - In for a little sightseeing, just a short drive from the Farmhouse is Confederate State Park and Missouri State Veterans Cemetery. There are also historic sites, Civil War sites, six nearby wineries, Kleinschmidt's Western Store, antique shops, and a local golf course. Scenic Byways along 24 Hwy and 224 Hwy are located approximately 20 minutes from Red Brick Farmhouse. Along the Missouri Scenic Byway 24 Hwy there are numerous orchards for purchasing your favorite fruits and vegetables, especially peaches in late July and August and apples in September and October. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE - Holiday rates: for the 4 days surrounding Memorial Weekend, 4th of July, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving, and Christmas - there is a minimum 2 nights stay.
