Charming newly renovated cabin in the woods. Full kitchen & bath & wraparound deck. Brand new Macy’s sofa bed w/very firm mattress. Up the hill from Bearsville Theater, Bear Cafe, Commune & Little Bear Chinese restaurants; just down the hill from the Byrdcliffe barn & theater. Five minutes by car to center of town. Peaceful & quiet, with easy access to any Woodstock offering that strikes your fancy--music, art, shopping, hiking, swimming,drumming, meditation--or just hanging out on the deck. Our cabin is all newly renovated, with full kitchen and bath and large wraparound deck. My house is on the property, behind the cabin. The cabin’s deck faces away from the house into the woods, so that both places are private. We are in the woods, where it is peaceful and quiet, and home to deer, raccoons, wild turkey, birds, squirrels and chipmunks, peepers, and even the occasional bear. With all this we are only minutes away from restaurants, theaters and shopping, hiking and swimming, and Tibetan monastery. Going further afield, there are many other towns to explore in this area, including antiquing centers (Hudson); as well as historic homes (FDR's Hyde Park, for one); the early government buildings in Kingston (the first capital of NY State); the old stone houses on Huguenot Street in New Paltz, beautiful Bard College Campus with its wonderful concerts and performances; Hunter and Tannersville, with their ski slopes and chair lifts; beautiful North Lake State Park, with its two large swimming and boating lakes and spectacular vistas; and nearby dramatic Haines Falls. Please let us know if you need anything See above (The Space) We are three miles from town so you probably want to have a car. You can rent bikes in town so it is possible to take the bus to town and then bike, but there are definitely hills. Many people do walk--but it is three miles. There is a town taxi, and the bus will let you off at spots outside of town that you can walk from (up a hill.) I can also give you a lift if we happen to be going in the same direction at the same time. I also might be able to pick you up at the bus in town at a given time if you let me know. November through June: If the two days after a weekend are blocked, that does not mean that the guests staying the weekend could not extend their stay if they wanted to, or book into the days following the weekend from the get-go. The blocking is usually there so that new guests don't book before we have had time to clean. During the summer and through October we are generally able to accommodate guests arriving right after the weekend. I’m sorry but we can’t have pets because many people seem to have allergies.
