While carrying snow chains is mandatory by law, you are unlikely to need them in AWD/4x4 vehicle unless a major winter storm is approaching. From May to November, regular 2WD cars are generally sufficient. #### Transportation Please note that there are no shuttle buses (YARTS) in Yosemite West. The closest YARTS stops are in the valley and in Wawona. Additionally, there are no Uber, Lyft, or taxi services available. #### Don't Forget Your Groceries! The last major stops for groceries are in Oakhurst (Hwy. 41), Mariposa (Hwy. 140), Oakdale (Hwy. 120 from Modesto), and Lee Vining (Hwy. 120 from the eastern approach to the park - SUMMER ONLY!). There are two small markets approximately 25 minutes from here, but they are more expensive and have a limited selection. #### Road Closures For the most up-to-date road conditions, please call: - California Roads: 1-800-427-ROAD - Yosemite National Park Roads: 1-209-372-O2OO #### Snow Chains **IMPORTANT!** During winter, even when roads are clear and skies are blue, it is mandatory to carry tire chains in your car, even for 4-wheel-drive vehicles. If you do not have them and encounter an inspection roadblock, you will be turned back to buy chains before being allowed to proceed. Chains are often required on roads both inside and outside of Yosemite from November through March, less often in October and April, and rarely in September or May. Winter driving restrictions are strictly enforced in Yosemite! #### COVID-19 Guidelines Please do not travel if you are sick or if someone in your household has had coronavirus in the last two weeks. Avoid traveling with someone who is sick. We hope this information helps you plan a safe and enjoyable trip to Yosemite National Park! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us. **EV Charger (Level 2):** For your convenience, we have installed a Level 2, 50A EV charger with an SAE J1772 plug. Hi there! My name is Alexey. I am in my late forties, moved to US in 2015 for my work in Folsom CA. Few years ago we bought this home in Yosemite and put a lot of effort to get it up to our vision how perfect vacation home should feel like I was born in Russia and left to Israel right after the high school. Made my bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering in Technion (in Hebrew!!). I love programming and fine mix of Electronics and Software. Could not stop playing computer games during my school years and traveled a lot around the world whenever got a chance. There in Israel I met a wonderful girl called Nila. Nila was born in Ukraine and came to Israel during her school years... We have three kids together now. We also have a dog, Russian Spaniel named Nala and a cat, Maine Coon named Lol. I have been working for Intel Semiconductors for more than twenty years now and yet always wanted to have a thing of my own. Hosting is a first real opportunity to create a family business: a right mix of real estate investment, hard work to create a memorable experience for our guests, meeting with different people, hospitality and entrepreneurship. Nila and I are very committed to our success. Working hard together on our vision and goals brought us closer and helped to go through highs and lows. Needless to say we have learned a lot about hospitality business and ourselves. We will be happy to help you to make your Yosemite adventure memorable and make sure your stay with us is peaceful and comfortable.
