A stand-alone 200 sq. ft. cozy studio cottage with garden view. Lovingly decorated with modern solid maple furniture, super comfy Sleep Number bed with memory foam mattress topper, fluffy down alternative pillows and comforter and crisp sheets/European duvet cover. Outfitted with a Keurig coffee maker, small fridge and microwave for your convenience (we do not have a full kitchen in our B&B). Shower, sink and toilet in bathroom. Breakfast nook w/folding table & stools. TV with free Netflix, HULU and Amazon Prime movies. Board games and a few books for you during your stay. A folding laptop desk is available if needed. A Weber BBQ grill around the side of the cottage for guest's exclusive use. Main house (where we live) is approx. 100 feet away from the guest cottage. Owners are present should you need anything during your stay. ***Note: We have 2 rescue dogs, Giant Schnauzers, which are 110+ pounds each. As we live on and share the property with our guests, we cannot accept any outside animals.*** You have your own private cottage with plenty of parking space and a fenced-in lawn area in front of cottage. We love our guests and want to share our beautiful surroundings with you! ***PLEASE NOTE: Guest access to the lake area is reached via a private staircase down a steep hill. There are approximately 60 stairs without hand rails. Please consider your physical fitness for the steep incline when you are making your reservation. The lake, and our property, is not wheelchair accessible. All activities on our property are at your own risk. We respect each guest’s need for privacy, rest and relaxation, but we are available anytime for you. You can call or text us, or just come up to the main house and ring the doorbell! We have a 100 pound Giant Schnauzer, Stella. She was rescued from deplorable living conditions. Stella is still in her social cocoon (she is scared of strangers). She may alert bark from a distance at first sight of you (that's her only "job") but she is shy and will retreat into our house. She spends most of her days inside the main house with us, with a few potty breaks outside in her yard. During the summer months, we may take her down to our lakefront for some playtime and swimming. Lake Martha Cottage is a stand-alone cottage on our property. This is a shared living/work environment in that our glassblowing studio is across from the cottage and the main house. You are welcome to pop your head in and say hello to Jason while he is glassblowing when the studio door is open! As the listing describes, we do not have a full kitchen, however, we offer a nice breakfast bar with yogurts, pastries, fruit and granola bars. The Keurig machine will invite you to some fresh coffee in the mornings. Outside the cottage we have an electric BBQ for your use. We have a small knife, a spatula and tongs for the grill, a can opener, a small cutting board, paper towels, a small dish brush and some dish detergent. We also have 2 wine glasses, and a wine/beer opener in the utensil drawer, salt & pepper. Small paper plates, small napkins, and some paper coffee cups are in the drawer for the breakfast items we offer. We recommend you pick up what you need if you stop at a grocery store for you vacation! Closest grocery store: Safeway 3532 172nd St NE, Arlington. Right off of I-5 at the exit you take to get to Lake Martha Cottage! We do not have built-in A/C in the cottage - most private homes in Washington do not have A/C. There are only a few days in the summer where the temperature reaches 85 or higher so most of the time just opening the windows and screen door of the cottage lets in a nice breeze from the lake and cools things down at night. You will also find 2 fans in the cottage should you need them. In extreme heat, should you find that you are uncomfortable, we are happy to bring over and temporarily install a portable A/C unit for your comfort. We do not charge a cleaning fee and we do not ask that you do any “chores” that some other AirBnBs ask of their guests. To keep the $0 cleaning fee, we do request one simple thing of you: Please separate your garbage from your recycling and place them in the appropriate garbage/recycling cans before you check out. It is beyond unpleasant for me to have to rifle through people’s garbage to pluck out the recycling…thank you in advance…🙂
