The space An iconic period property situated along prestigious, tree-lined Dee Banks in the Chester village of Boughton, The Old Post Office has been reloved, restored and renovated to the highest standard, right across from the banks of the River Dee. Following extensive renovation work, carried out in 2013, which has seen the replacement of sash windows, replastering, reinsulated walls and floors, newly fitted plumbing and electrics, The Old Post Office is a home restored to its period glamour. Poised between the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods, The Old Post Office defies conventions, resulting in an utterly unique abode, brimming with quirks and character. It is a home once seen, never forgotten. Please note that the hot tub is included for bookings that include both a Friday and Saturday night, for any other bookings (mid week) there is an additional fee of £50.00. Guest access As remarkable as the home's period interior is its unrivalled location. Only two minutes' walk delivers you to the slipway onto the River Dee. Nestled in a conservation area, get back to nature at Calder Valley Nature Reserve, directly to the rear of The Old Post Office. An ideal place for a walk. Only 10-minutes' walk from the centre of Boughton, take the passenger ferry and walk across the Meadows and cross the bridge into Chester. Within Chester, feast your eyes and appetite on an abundance of restaurants, cafes, bistros and cultural delights. Explore the attractions of Boughton: dine out at Et Alia at The Red House, a cherished local Italian offering alfresco dining overlooking the River Dee and the Meadows. Nearby supermarkets include Waitrose and Sainsbury's. Commuting is no problem, with fantastic links to the M53, M56 and A55 and Chester railway station nearby (5 mins taxi or 20 mins walk). 5 miles / 15 mins to Chester Zoo. PARKING - Plenty of on street parking, it's a quiet area so not an issue for multiple vehicles. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE - The Hot Tub use is included when both Friday & Saturday is included in your booking. If you wish to use of the Hot Tub for any other stay there is a £50.00 additional charge that will be requested in advance.
