Escape to The Cottage at Hemlock Pond, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. This home overlooks its own private pond with winter mountain views. It boasts a separate game room complete with air hockey, ping-pong, and more. Bring a fishing pole for catch and release fishing in your front yard! Just minutes from historic downtown Franklin, hiking, waterfalls, brews, gem mining and more. After a day of fun, come back home to roast s'mores on the fire table. Must be 21 to book. The space This sweet cottage is newly renovated. You will sleep in luxury on the new Dream Cloud King mattress. The full bed and fold away are all new as well with memory foam for extra comfort. One of our favorite places is the covered front porch where we can enjoy a warm cup of coffee in the morning while looking out over the pond. The sunset is also beautiful with a winter view of the mountains. Roasting s'moores over the fire table is always a kids favorite. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, utensils, glassware, wine glasses and more. The coffee nook off the dining room is stocked with a variety of coffee and even some hot chocolate! Complementary oatmeal, snack bars, and more are also found here as a special treat to our guests. Up for some friendly competition? The game room is located at the bottom of the hill in what used to be the garage. Being a garage there is an incline to the room, but we have tried to level the game table as much as possible. The game table converts from an air hockey table to a ping pong table and then back to a normal table to play board games with your family and friends. The pond is not only beautiful, but it is also stocked with Bream and Bass. Bring your own poles to enjoy catch and release fishing in your own front yard. The cottage is conveniently located only 4 miles to down town Franklin where you can find a historic museum, eateries, shops and more. It is also a short 30 minute drive to the Highlands and Dillsboro for shopping and dining. Gem mining abounds in Franklin, as it is the Gem mining capital of the world! Looking for some fun outdoors? You have come to right place! Hiking, waterfalls, and spectacular views can all be found close to Franklin. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property (except a cleaning closet by the game room and a host closet that is locked.) Other things to note Please note that we have well water. We have a water softener as the water is hard. We provide a Britta water filter for your drinking water needs. Please don’t use the well water for drinking unless filtered. You can also buy gallons of drinking water at any of our local grocery stores.
