Tideswell Wakes Week is held every June and dating back almost 750 years coincides with the village’s annual Well Dressing ceremony and the church’s Festival for St John the Baptist. Excellent walks radiate from the area including to the beautiful nature reserve of Tideswell Dale, the Cressbrook Nature Reserve, Monksdale and the neighbouring villages of Millers Dale and Litton. Both the Monsal Trail and Limestone way can also be reached on foot from the cottage.
