At the end of the day, gather around an indoor or outdoor fire, perfect that recipe in our gourmet kitchen, and explore our eclectic record collection and library over a drink. The space Our home has undergone a full, interior renovation over the last year, designed to allow as much of the surrounding nature into the home as possible. The main living area is the heart of the home, with a 6-foot wide stone gas fireplace that can be lit or extinguished with remote control. The cathedral ceiling and skylights allow guests to view the trees surrounding the back of the property. A sliding glass door allows easy access to a spacious back deck, furnished with a sectional seating area, outdoor dining table and chairs, and propane grill and patio heater. The 25,000 acres of state forest will greet you each morning with your coffee. And if you're lucky, you'll spy the plentiful Poconos wildlife rummaging around for breakfast themselves. Extra lucky guests may get a sight of the local black bears during the warmer months! *Please note, temporary Lake Naomi memberships are not available with rental of this property. Main living area The living room is furnished with a spacious sectional sofa, perfect for cozying up in front of the fire, and a modern round coffee table to hold your coffee or glass of wine. Next to the sofa is a record stand with an extensive and eclectic mix of LPs for you to explore. An office area is available for use, complete with an external monitor and full desk that can be adjusted to standing height. A staircase with modern wire railing leads up to the second floor, just beside a door leading to the screened-in side porch. Dining area The dining area is furnished with a Scandinavian-style table with modern chairs to provide seating for 8. The midcentury hutch stores placemats, servingware and platters to display your gourmet creations. Kitchen The gourmet kitchen includes a dual oven with electric range, a modern stainless steel dishwasher, a spacious refrigerator, slim profile microwave and all the kitchen amenities you'll need to channel your inner Ina Garten. Just off the kitchen is a spacious pantry for food storage. Easy access to a full bathroom (shared with the first floor bedroom) is just off the kitchen. Laundry area Just inside the front door, you'll find a full-size washer and dryer for use during your stay. The storage cabinets contain extra paper towels and toilet paper as well as a first aid kit for the knee scrape you got scrambling through the forest on an adventure. First floor bedroom The tranquil downstairs bedroom includes a cozy and comfortable queen sized bed, a spacious closet that includes additional linens and towels, with enough room for your hiking boots and parkas. A desk and chair is also available for a quick email to the office before heading back out to the campfire. The bedroom has direct access to the first floor bathroom, complete with full size soaking bathtub with a hinged glass door for easy entry and exit. Upstairs nook Tuck yourself away in the nook at the end of the hallway next to a bookshelf with enough reading material to wile away an afternoon or evening. Relax into the midcentury leather armchair with faux sheepskin throw, and dig into your favorite book (or begin writing your own). Second bedroom The main upstairs bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, a midcentury style dresser with multiple drawers for storage, nightstands with phone chargers, a comfortable sofa that can be laid flat for an additional sleeping area, and desk with ergonomic chair, complete with external monitor and printer. The bedroom has direct access to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with shower and full vanity. This bathroom is slated to be updated in 2022. Third bedroom/TV lounge We love sinking into this room’s extra lush velvet sectional sofa on a rainy day for a movie marathon, which pulls out into a comfortable sofa bed for guests. The widescreen projector provides a movie theater experience, and comes complete with Apple TV and PS4 for gaming. An additional lounge chair lets your whole house gather for games or taking in the newest Marvel movie. Outside areas What made us fall in love with this house is its plentiful outdoor areas. The covered front porch spans the width of the house, and is the perfect place to watch the rain or snow fall onto the expansive front yard. A screened-in side porch is available for when the mosquitos are being particularly pesky. The expansive back deck, just off the living area is the perfect place to gather for summer grilling and outdoor lounging and dining. The outdoor fire pit, surrounded by comfy Adirondack chairs, is our favorite place to gather on warm and chilly nights, feeding logs to a blazing fire, roasting marshmallows and scaring each other with ghost stories. Guest access Our driveway provides ample parking for multiple cars. Timber Trails is a gated community that only allows entry to registered guests, and each guest with a car will receive an entry pass for the duration of their stay. The paved roads around Timber Trails are our favorite roads to stroll on an early evening, and are easily bikeable for those who want a little extra speed. Please note, rental of the house does not come with access to Lake Naomi Club amenities, including the Timber Trails golf course, Lake Naomi Club and pool.
