Welcome to our one-of-a-kind 3-bedroom beach bungalow in the heart of Virginia Beach’s historic North End. Located one block from wide, white-sand beaches and one block from the serene trails of First Landing State Park, we offer stylish and pragmatic accommodations all tucked gracefully under two beautiful Live Oaks. If you’re looking for the most relaxing house in Virginia Beach’s most relaxing neighborhood you have found it. The house is a three bedroom, two bath, brick rancher built in 1950 and is one of very few houses on Atlantic Avenue that is set back off the street. It is one block from the ocean and one block from First Landing State Park. Here is a rundown of each room… Dining room: dining table with bench seats, it will very comfortably seat 6 adults. Bedroom 1: King size bed, dresser, two end tables with drawers, and a spacious closet with hanging organizers for your clothes, a long mirror, and a laundry basket. Bedroom 2: Queen size bed, dresser, two end tables with drawers, long mirror, and a spacious closet with organizers, and laundry basket. This bedroom also has its own small bathroom with standup shower. (*note: no electrical outlet in bathroom) Bedroom 3: Bunkbeds (standard twin size mattresses), dresser, closet with organizers and laundry basket. Hall bathroom: full size bathroom with tub and epsom salts. There are no electrical outlets in the bathroom. Family room: one full couch, one loveseat sized couch, coffee table, TV along with Apple TV, and all the of the National Geographics your heart could ever desire (try and find your birth month) Kitchen: fully stocked with spices, oils, pots and pans, microwave, toaster, oven, cutting boards, new and SHARP knife block set, magic bullet blender, ice trays, cloth napkins, kitchen towels, paper towels, tea kettle, etc. It can get warm in the kitchen while cooking. We recommend either opening the kitchen windows or turning on the ceiling fan over the dining room table. Laundry room: washer and dryer (please empty lint rack after using), broom and dustpan, beach chairs, citronella candles, etc. Front brick patio: great vibe with the live oak trees above you and breeze from the ocean, wrought iron patio set that has 5 chairs. There’s also a propane grill for you to use. Back deck: more private feeling, but also a little sunnier than the front - good for working on your bronze in the hammock if you’re so relaxed you don’t even feel like walking down to the beach. There’s a wrought iron patio set that seats four. Flood lights are located on the wall inside of the back door, about knee height. The entire house, as well as the front yard and back deck, are yours to enjoy! Make yourselves at home! We are here to help! Just send us a message and we will happily reply as soon as we can! In the spirit of thoroughness, it should be noted that this is our home, and for the time you stay there it is your home, it is not a hotel. We will not bring you ice or change a lightbulb! We are located in Virginia Beach’s historic North End, a hundred year old neighborhood that is sandwiched between the ocean and First Landing State Park. It is not the strip or the boardwalk, it is known for being the most relaxed, and least “tourist-y” of all the oceanfront neighborhoods and is certainly more residential (less seasonal rentals) than most beachfront areas. If you want to be around the locals, this is the place to be. If you do want to go to the boardwalk it is a quick drive away (5 minutes), and also can be done by bike. We are also very close (5 minute drive) to the beaches on the Chesapeake Bay, which can be very nice for families with young children. The best news is the beach is a very short walk. You won’t need anything but a pair of flip flops to get there. We timed it and it’s about a 4 minute walk from our front steps to the sand. There is also very nice biking in the neighborhood. The North End (we’re around 80th street) has a feeder road that runs all the way to The Cavalier (42nd street) and it makes for very pleasant and easy biking (or evening strolls). From there Virginia Beach’s iconic boardwalk starts at 40th street and that will take you all the way to 1st street. Every classic beach experience known to man can be found in that journey - from ferris wheels to ice cream cones and everything in between. Also, on 64th street there is an entrance to bike trails for First Landing State Park - this is a hit with a lot of visitors. You will likely need a car. Most stores that you might want to go to is a short drive away. If you consider that good news (and I do) this is a house for you. Relax and have a good time :)
