Belhaven Arts Hideaway

Located in the heart of the historic Belhaven neighborhood, you will enjoy a relaxing stay in this 1927 craftsman bungalow ART GALLERY! The guest suite was completely remodeled in 2021, beautifully blending the best of the new with all the character of the old. Original works from local artists are featured throughout the guest suite, many of them available for purchase. The Belhaven Arts Hideaway is just one block from Belhaven University, and two blocks from the Eudora Welty house and garden. The space With large west-facing windows, the walk-out basement guest suite offers you plenty of natural light along with a view of the enclosed backyard. In the main living area, you can enjoy a movie or binge-watch your favorite show on the 50" smart TV. While you're at it, throw a pizza in the oven, or perhaps prepare a nice meal in the kitchen area. Speaking of the kitchen, you'll love the new custom-built cabinets, concrete countertops, salvaged cypress open shelves, and new stainless steel appliances. You'll find all the kitchen basics to prepare meals, whether it's a quick breakfast or a gourmet dinner for two. In the bedroom, you'll appreciate the comfortable queen-sized bed and 40" smart TV. If you prefer to not live out of your luggage, there's plenty of room for your clothes in the built-in cabinets and roomy closet. The bathroom features a sleek walk-in shower, industrial concrete countertop, and a bespoke towel rack built from industrial pipes and salvaged wood. You will enjoy the natural body soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a hair dryer and first aid kit are also provided. Please note that the bathroom door is too narrow for a wheelchair, as is the pathway to the toilet and shower. Just outside your guest suite door you will find a well-lit patio to enjoy a meal or perhaps evening cocktails. Need to do some laundry? New full-size washer and dryer are tucked away in the guest suite for your use, free of charge. Check-out is easy at the Belhaven Arts Hideaway. We just ask that you pick up after yourselves (don't leave any big messes), and start the dishwasher before you leave. We'll take care of garbage removal, doing the laundry, cleaning and sanitizing the suite; that's our job, not yours! Guest access You will access the guest suite from the back side of the house. Just go down the driveway on the left side of the house to the back yard. You can park your car in the first carport space (on the right). Additional free parking is available on the street. Other things to note As described above, the guest suite is equipped with two smart TVs. The living room set comes equipped with "Samsung TV Plus" channels, while the bedroom has a 40" set (not a Samsung). Guests can use either TV to log in to their own paid subscription services. For longer stays (beyond two weeks), you may need to replenish some of the consumable starter supplies such as coffee, sugar, creamer, TP, soaps, etc.
