Our villa, Casa Alegria, is one of very few properties in Salema with uninterrupted westerly sunset views from every living space, including the spacious terrace, BBQ area and private hot tub making every evening a breathtaking spectacle.   During the winter months, October to March, if the studio is not required, the villa can be rented at a reduced price. The space The villa is a luxury modernised Fisherman's house, overlooking the beautiful beach in the historic fishing village of Salema and a short walk from the beachfront restaurants, bars &shops. Salema remains one of Portugal’s best-kept secrets—a picturesque fishing village where time slows down. Whether you're exploring hidden coves, savouring fresh-caught seafood, or simply soaking in your private sunset sanctuary, Casa Alegria offers a stay like no other. The beautifully designed main villa comfortably sleeps 4 guests, with the option to expand your stay using the attached studio apartment (perfect for grandparents, teens, or a nanny), bringing total capacity to 6 guests. Ground Floor – beds, bathrooms, utility area The large sea view king-size master suite with a double ensuite shower room is on the ground floor. There is also a separate family bathroom and rear room that sleeps 2 guests either in 2 single beds or joined to form a super-king size bed. Adjacent to the bathroom is a small utility area with washer/dryer/airer/iron. First floor – lounge, kitchen/diner. balcony As you step up into the lounge be prepared to be captivated by the breath-taking views of the sea and village confronting you. A sense of easy living is created with comfortable seating, IPTV, wood burning fire and access to the balcony via the floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, where the stunning views again take your breath away. On this balcony, you will find a comfortable sofa and 2 chairs and a breakfast bar. The balcony is covered so ensures a comfortable space for relaxation throughout the day. The villa’s charming kitchen/diner, to the rear, is fully fitted and has ample seating for 6 people and includes coffee machine and dishwasher. Upper Terrace – studio, roof terrace, pergola, sunbeds From the patio doors of the kitchen diner, a flight of steps leads to the wonderful roof terrace and self contained studio to the rear of the villa. The studio comprises an open-plan lounge/sofa bed and kitchenette, with shower room.  It too has direct access out onto the impressive roof terrace where there are sunbeds and a beautiful pergola offering shade over the dining area whilst taking in the panoramic vistas of Salema village, beach, ocean and coastline. Please note that as the studio is accessed externally, it can be closed off, if the villa is rented separately during the winter months. Garden – Hot tub, BBQ, shaded dining, sunbeds The garden and BBQ area offers amazing, grandstand views. This is an idyllic spot for entertaining with a large sheltered al-fresco dining area plus a hot tub to relax and enjoy the incredible sunsets. There are also numerous outside spaces to enjoy the spectacular views and sunbathe in more loungers or recline in the hammock to the sounds of the waves. Externally, as there are several terraces and the hot tub/BBQ area, children must also be supervised at all times. Other things to note We are happy for guests to arrive and depart on any day of the week, but in busy times we will favour arrival dates which maximise our occupancy.
