The Sunday River at Chandler Brook Village
The Sunday River at Chandler Brook Village
Description
Our goal at Western Maine Yurts is to provide our guests with a four-season lodging option that is as connected to nature as possible. We aim to give a luxurious camping/glamping experience. We hope you will embrace being unplugged and pause to listen to the rain on the roof, birds singing, and the breeze blowing in the trees. Enjoy a cozy cuddle on the couch with your favorite drink. Get out and explore all that Western Maine has to offer! The space The Sunday River is named after, well you guessed it, the Sunday River! It is tucked in a stand of evergreens and maples within a 128 acre property. Chandler Brook runs through the back of the lot and meanders through a large marshland. Guests will enjoy the surrounding forest and trails that Western Maine Yurts are continuing to expand. Guests enter the front door with a key code provided before check in. Inside the yurt you will find a kitchenette complete with a draining sink, insulated water jug, propane camp cook stove, full enameled dinnerware set, small pot and pan, coffee french press, silverware, and serving utensils. It is fully furnished with a bar table, 6 barstools, couch, 2 arm chairs, coffee table, and a timber frame loft area! The loft area has a lower queen bed and an upper queen bed. *NOTE: BEDDING IS NOT PROVIDED*. Ample hooks are placed throughout the yurt for hanging jackets and drying wet gloves and hats near the propane fireplace. This heat source provides ample heat even on the coldest winter nights, and can be controlled from the thermostat on the back. The yurt is equipped with a small solar system that powers the 12v LED lights and 4 USB outlets for charging devices like phones, laptops, or tablets. *Note* guests should bring any adapters needed to plug into USB ports. A guest binder inside offers instructions for the solar power, stoves, a site map, and Bethel area dining and activities guides. Outside, 4 adirondack chairs are placed under strings of lights. Solo stoves are included for outside fires. Baskets of fire starter and kindling and lighters or matches are inside the yurt. Guests will find stacks of firewood and cast iron fireplace tools along the outdoor seating area. The side door gives access to the trash bin and leads to the short, lit path to the outhouse. In addition to the outhouse, guests have access to the bathhouse via the boardwalk trail. It houses a ladies and gents side, each with 2 private hot showers and toilet stalls. There is a handicap accessible toilet stall available in both bathrooms. The interior of the farmhouse style bathhouse feels warm and inviting with stained concrete floors throughout with radiant heat. The bathhouse has large rustic tub sinks for washing dishes and filling the water jug provided in each yurt. Our well water is tested monthly and approved by the Maine Drinking Water Program. Other things to note Up to two dogs are welcomed with a pet fee of $25. Please note that dogs are not to be left unattended in the yurt, must be leashed on the property, and should be cleaned up after. Doggy bags are provided for pet clean up and are located at the front door. *Outdoor fires permitted in Western Maine Yurts Solo stoves only. **This yurt is heated fall-spring with a propane stove with a real flame.
