Our lakeside resort is located on beautiful Lake Shafer and is within a short walking distance from Indiana Beach Amusement Park. We are your summer vacation destination to enjoy with your family and friends. Cabin has one bedroom with a queen bed and a futon in the living room. Full kitchen including refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans, and cooking/eating utensils. There is a private bathroom with a tub. The living room has a Roku TV ( you can sign in with your accounts). We provide an outside charcoal grill for guests to use (charcoal and lighter fluid will need to be purchased). Cabin has a large deck with a seating area. We are a pet friendly resort, there is a $50.00 one time pet fee. GUESTS NEED TO BRING LINEN AND TOWELS FOR THEIR STAY, THE RESORT DOES NOT PROVIDE THIS COMPLIMENTARY. The beds will all have mattress covers and pillows are provided, but sheets, blankets, wash cloths, bath towel, swim towels, etc. are the guests responsibility. All guests staying at our resort can utilize our resort amenities - heated pool, boat docks, communal fire pits, basketball hoop, volleyball net and (2) playgrounds. We do have a general store where you can pick up camping essentials, such as toiletries, snacks, fishing gear, ice, etc. Outrigger resort was recently purchased by a Father and Daughter from Hobart, IN, in June 2021. Jason Mergl (Dad) grew up coming to Lake Shafer with his grandparents and has many fond memories of Lake Shafer, Indiana Beach, the Drive in Theater and Monticello as a City. Later in life Jason grew his career in real-estate investments and has been an entrepreneur for over a decade. Hannah Mergl (daughter), has had a passion for the Hospitality Industry her whole life. She studied Hospitality at Purdue University and has grown her career in the Hotel Industry over the past 10 years. In May 2021, Jason stumbled on two opportunities for resorts on the water in Monticello and the father daughter duo decided to combine their passions and take on the ownership and operations of Outrigger Resort and Paradise Cove Cottages. Their goal is the let the warmth of hospitality shine through each visit and they want to help their guests create cherished memories in Monticello, Indiana. As we all know, life is better on the lake! The resort is located within walking distance of Indiana Beach Amusement Park (.5 miles) and across the street you can find gokarting, minigolf and an arcade room. Also, .5 miles down the road you can find boat rentals and the local Whiskey & Wine Saloon hat features live music throughout the summer. Just 3 miles down the road you can find many fast food and sit down restaurants and convenient stores, such as Kroger and Walmart.
