Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. Open first floor with comfortable seating and dining space. Updated kitchen on the appliance end, and filled with almost everything you need to prepare anything from quick to gourmet meals. The second floor offers four bedrooms and a TV Room (Roku), plus a full and half bath. A refinished loft/attic can be used as an office and includes a desk|chair, some seating and a Fire TV. Bedding and towels are all cotton products. The space Built circa 1835, this barn was part of a working farm. The house sits on about 12 acres, with a large meadow along the quiet road, and woods extending up the back hill. Our best guess at the conversion to a family home is the 1960s. But much of the structural interior, particularly the first floor, is reminiscent of its roots...original beams and wide plank flooring, odd step downs, and a bit of a tilt. We've added modern amenities where practical, but refrained from changing the footprint and unnecessary gutting, embracing the unique and quirky character. The neighboring property, where the original farmhouse sits, continues the original use of the land--housing chickens, a rooster and some goats. We've had guests from 2 to 90 years old. Other things to note Please note we are a pet friendly destination. While our between guest cleaning is thorough, and we extend the minimum days between stays--should you or anyone in your party have allergies this may not be an appropriate rental. Once upon a time there was a winery in Jacksonville. This is no longer the case and I am working to remove the "winery within 10 minutes" overview of the property.
