Wind Down Log Cabin in the Woods w/ Cozy Woodstove

The Wind Down is a beautiful hand built log home nestled amongst huge cedar trees and perched next to a small babbling creek, lush with ferns. Conveniently located directly off Old Island Highway and centrally located for exploring the island. The space When we say hand built, we mean it! The cabin was constructed from the ground up with lots of hard work and love by Francis Provencal who lives on the other side of the creek with his partner Courtnee & their 3 children. From falling logs on the property, milling lumber, building the cozy interior, doors & shakes to adding all the live edge finishing touches.. He did it all in hopes that you will come wind down and enjoy this beautiful land. The cabin welcomes you with a lovely open living area. Hand peeled logs and real wood floors bring the essence of nature inside. There is a TV with a Firestick (for streaming) along with a DVD player and a large collection of DVD’s. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen with all the cooking essentials as well as coffee & tea. Climb up to the spacious loft where two comfy queen beds will have you resting easy or use the queen size sofa bed in the living area if you need extra space. There are 2 large decks - front and back, allowing you to take in nature and use the BBQ (propane included), rain or shine. The Wifi works great but cell phones only work well outside the cabin so using wifi calling on your phone is a good solution. Guest access You will have access to your private cabin with 2 decks, free designated parking & your own outdoor sitting area. The large forested landscape is shared with one other cabin. Other things to note -There is a provincial fire ban in effect for summer 2024 so there are no fires permitted at this time. Pets are welcome! The rear deck is fenced but the yard itself is not so dogs must be well behaved & supervised if they are off leash on the property. Please indicate if you plan on bringing your pooch by adding them to your reservation. We kindly ask that you’re not excessively loud, especially after 10:00pm.
