The Cheese Factory - High Desert Cabin Built 1880
Cheese Factory built in 1880
Description
This is a historical building built in 1880 that was the local meat market and then later became a Cheese Factory (creamery) which it is locally known as today. Nearly condemned in the 1980s a very ambitious carpenter decided to not only make it livable but expand the attic to create a very unique living space. The space The bottom floor consists of a storefront, of which I’m slowly turning into a mini town museum and a big back shop area. Up some stairs, to the second floor, you will find the kitchen, living room, a bedroom with a double bed as well as a bathroom with a claw foot tub. Up another set of narrow stairs, you find the third floor with a master bedroom, a small bedroom, another large bedroom and a bathroom with a shower. Guest access Guests can access most of the house but we ask that you limit use of the shop to just using the washer and drier. Please respect our things and do not touch tools and machines in the shop. Other things to note Kitchen Fan and Lighting - If you are going to use the Kitchen ceiling fan, please make sure the dimmer switch is all the way up. Heating - There are space heaters in every room. Feel free to turn them on and leave them on throughout the day during colder seasons. During the summer months, the upstairs can get pretty hot. There are AC units in the two big bedrooms on the third floor that can be used if the rooms are occupied. For the second I recommend opening all the windows and letting the breeze come through. A swamp cooler is on the list of to-dos this summer. If you run the Coffee maker and the microwave at the same time it can sometimes pop the breaker.
