The Lodge is a great space for entertaining family or friends with all the amenities of the perfect Alaskan retreat! It is a 2,500 sq ft log home with an open floor concept plan. The main floor is open with a kitchen, dining, and 2 living room areas, including a fireplace and TV. Two bedrooms are on the main floor with a 700 sq ft loft bedroom open to below. Located just outside of Fairbanks, it is a perfect halfway point between Fairbanks & Denali. Nenana Is a cute historic town. The space The Rustic Aurora Lodge is a 2,500 sq ft 2 story log Home with an open floor concept plan (more pictures to be posted by Nov 17th as it is being furnished, and decorated). The main floor has a large living room with two areas. The first sitting area includes a corner couch, ottoman and chairs facing the TV. The second area includes a loveseat, 4 accent chairs, and an electric fire place. Both living areas are open to above with a 2-story ceiling. The kitchen and dining room are an open floor concept plan with all the basic amenities for perfect Alaska retreat! Bedrooms 1 and 2 are on the main floor and each have a queen size beds with a full bathroom across the hall. The bedroom upstairs is a 700 sq ft loft open to below. Right at the top of the stairs is a nook with a XL Full size bed. Past the nook is the main loft. In the main loft area, there are 2 full-twin bunk beds and a twin bed, with a bathroom adjoining. It’s location is easily accessible off the Parks highway, but feels remote on 5 acres of hillside property with 2 large lawns and a scenic hillside lookout above. The hillside lookout is where President Harding came to drive the Golden Spike at the completion of the Alaska Railroad. There is also a large covered porch that overlooks the river below, Denali when it’s clear, and the Aurora when it’s dancing! It’s the ideal retreat if you are looking for a serene space with the beauty of Alaska surrounding you. Visit the quaint historic town of Nenana across the bridge, 2 min from the lodge. There are shops, including AK Rustic Co. (specialty root beer floats, art, clothing, and gifts), the Alaskan Gallery (trendy chic gifts and art), Indigenous Alaska (Athabaskan Alaska Native handmade pieces), Cultural Center (museum and gift shop), Railroad Depot (museum and gift shop), and some dining options from Roughwoods Inn (hometown cooking) to the Flour Girls Bakery to the Monderosa (claim to fame for having the best burgers in Ak). Guest access The entire upper two levels of the home are dedicated to our guests. The basement and garage is used for maintenance, supplies office space and a caretaker. Our caretaker and their occasional guests occupy the basement and garage.
