La Hussaire - The Bakery

The Bakery is a 2 bedroomed gite with a double bedroom and a bunk room. Both share a shower room. Lounge/kitchen/diner all in one with a wood burner fireplace. Full central heating. The gite is set in the countryside amongst orchards and pretty gardens with views over the valley. TV, DVD player, WiFi, full oven and hob, coffee maker, microwave and fridge freezer. A local boulangerie is a minute drive away. With a 5 minute drive to the town of Sourdeval with banks, bars, restaurants, supermarkets The space The Bakery is an old traditional wooden beamed gite with a modern touch throughout. It was originally built in 1849 and was used as animal housing then during the 1st world war was converted into a bakery. Now converted into a gite it has 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. The lounge, kitchen and dining area are all in one. There is a full oven and hob, fridge freezer, a microwave, large TV, DVD player, DVD’s in both French and English. It has its own with granite BBQ, tables and chairs plus sun loungers. It also has its own private garden plus guests can wander around the orchards and paddock. Come feed the chickens or play billiards and ping pong in the games room up at the stables. There is a children’s swing slide set plus two trampolines, one for small children and one for older children and adults, plus balls, tennis rackets, tractors and scooters to ride on. DVDs, domino’s and cards to keep you occupied in the gite. Renowned for the role it has played in history, Normandy is home to Bayeux and the D-Day landing beaches. Quaint towns and villages with markets selling local produce are perfect for a stroll and a browse. Chateaux, cathedrals and abbeys pepper the landscape. However, the jewel in Normandy's crown is the Mont St Michel - a small island village topped with a magnificent abbey. The coastline is spectacular - golden sandy beaches and dunes stretch for miles and miles. Locally produced food and drink includes camembert, calvados, seafood and cider. It's family-friendly too as it's reminiscent of bygone times. Guest access Guests can access all the grounds. There is also a games room with billiards and ping pong.
