Fleurieu Eco Escape; stylish, cosy and non-smoking

Feel your stresses melting away as you arrive into our unique non smoking Eco village. As soon as you arrive at your Fleurieu Eco Escape, build using Passive Solar principals, you will start to smile and relax. The big super comfortable bed and seating will delight. Lots of thoughtful extras will make your life easier and your stay better; you’ll love our breakfast provisions. Wander though our village, marvelling at the many different styles of houses and gardens and listen to the birdsong. The space In this fresh and clean north facing no smoking studio, you will find beautiful linens and towels, chocolates on your pillow plus more! Your space is adjoining to our home but has its own access path and entrance and is completely independent. You’ll love our breakfast provisions that we provide for the first 2 nights of your stay. They include 3 types of milk (cow, soy and oat usually) home grown eggs from our chookies, orange juice, bread, butter and jam plus good old Vegemite. We have a Nespresso pod machine and a plunger (plus instant coffee); we understand how important good coffee is! Gluten Free crunchy granola, Porridge and hot chocolate are also offered. We built this place using passive solar design; windows, walls, floors and shading are designed to collect, store, reflect, and distribute solar energy, in the form of heat in the winter and reject solar heat in the summer to make it more comfortable to live in whilst using less energy. Hot water and power all come from the sun and we have rainwater (fully filtered). Your room is north facing and has lots of thermal mass in the handmade earth bricks and sandstone floor tiles; these help to regulate the temperature without using energy; ceiling fan and reverse cycle air conditioning are available. Wander around our village where we do things differently! The village is the first Eco Village in South Australia (est. 2000) and is 34 hectares with 17 allocated to our farm and 17 to our community. We have approx 200 houses with 300 residents but it feels so quiet and peaceful! The house designs and building materials are all very different; we have straw bale, rammed earth plus more traditional materials. Please wander around and notice how we do things a bit differently! I’m happy to answer any questions that you may have about our village. Guest access You have a private path and the door will be open for you. The studio and bathroom is entirely yours and there is a private seating area outside your room. Please note that whilst you have a separate path and entrance, you share an internal wall with our family home; this is not a stand alone property and some daily living noises may be heard at times during the day. Other things to note There is no smoking allowed in the studio or indeed anywhere else in the village. There is a bbq available for you; if you require this, please ask me to move it around to the front for you. There are usually villagers and kids wandering around tor playing in the village; just delightful. This is why we drive slowly here.
