Description

Blanketed in the forested wilderness; this private, authentic and welcoming mountain chalet sits on five acres and is at the heartbeat of western Maine’s recreational attractions. In the summer, guests can enjoy close access to public water on South Pond, North Pond and Lake Christopher. Swimming, paddling, and sunbathing can be accessed here all summer long and the drive down to the water is approximately 5-15 minutes (depending on the location). There is plenty of space in the driveway to keep a boat and use at any of the three above mentioned lakes. For winter guests, two world-class ski resorts can be accessed within a short ride. Both Mt Abram Ski Resort (which is a mountain bike park in the summer) and Sunday River Ski Resort offer tremendous skiing on their slopes. Ice fishing, skating, and snowshoeing are additional area activities that are popular here during the winter months. The house is ten minutes from the town of Bethel where you will find dining and village shops and multiple access points to multi-use, four season trails. No matter what the activity, this house will be a perfect basecamp for your visit. With three levels of living space, there is room for everyone. On the main level, the open kitchen and living room area are spacious and cozy as they are centered around the soaring fireplace with a wood-burning insert. This room will keep you cozy and comfortable while you enjoy the view of the snow settling onto the pines. There are two bedrooms on this level which are both furnished with queen-size beds. In the second-level loft, there is a primary bedroom with its own private bathroom. This is a large room that is furnished with a king bed. The lower level is finished as a walkout basement which provides a bonus recreation area, a laundry room, and a full bathroom. This is a great overflow space for larger groups and has additional sleeping with twin bunk beds and a twin trundle. For those that are drawn to the mountains for recreation and a nature-based experience, this property puts you in an ideal location with opportunity at your fingertips.
