This rustic french gite oozes warmth and character helping you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you arrive and is perfect for your summer getaway with family or friends. Downstairs, you have a comfy lounge area with logburner leading into an open kitchen diner with all the necessary amenities. There is also a downstairs toilet for your comfort. Upstairs, there is a family bathroom with a shower and 3 bedrooms accommodating up to 6 people, with views looking out across the courtyard or french countryside. You can also enjoy free WIFI and French/English TV. Bed linens, towels/pool towels are all provided free of charge. Set in 2 acres of land, you have an abundance of beautiful trees and vast open space around you, surrounded by fields and woods, offering peace, tranquillity, and walks amongst nature. Or enjoy a range of outdoor games and activities for all ages. Spend lazy summer days by the heated salt water pool with open views across the countryside soothed by the sound of rippling water and bird song. The pool may be shared with other guests. Please note - the pool will be open May to mid September, weather/temperature permitting. The gite has a private enclosed garden to the rear with sitting/dining area, perfect for your morning coffee as you ease yourself into your day. Enjoy the use of your own stone-built BBQ, cooking and dining with family or friends. At night, sit back and enjoy a glass of wine, your garden twinkling with fairy lights, as you watch the glorious sunsets with bats and owls flying overhead. Please note - for bookings during the colder months- initial supply of logs for the log burner are provided on your arrival. Further supply of logs can be purchased on site if required. There will be an additional charge if you wish to make use of the electric radiators during your stay. We are happy to welcome dogs during the longer winter stays. No cleaning fee will be charged, but the gite must be thoroughly cleaned throughout before departure, or a cleaning fine will be issued. The gite is located in the small and peaceful village of La Bataille, 4km from Chef Boutonne, a market town steeped in history and recently awarded 'Petit Cite de Caractere'. You can enjoy restaurants, bars, boulangeries, pâtisseries, a cinema, markets and regular festivals throughout the summer months. A visit to Chateau De Javarzay in the centre of the town is a must, with beautiful walks through the grounds, around the fishing lake and riverside strolls along the river Boutonne. You will find an abundance of other pretty french towns to explore within a short drive of Chef Boutonne, all with their own character, shops, bars, restaurants, and weekly markets. Centrally located for exploring the wider area, the beautiful coastal city of La Rochelle is just over an hour away, Niort 45 minutes away and the cities of Poitiers, Angouleme and Limoges all approximately an hours drive. We do live within the grounds of the property, but whether you are here as friends, a couple, or a family, your privacy during your holiday is of utmost importance to us.
