Description

Nestled along the upper reaches of the Clyde River (the cleanest and most pristine waterway in Eastern Australia) lies the Clyde River Retreat – a haven of beauty, peace and tranquility. The perfect place to stay if you want to visit Pigeon House, The Castle or any of the other spectacular locations in Morton National Park or Budawang National Park. If you do not have a 4WD, ask us about current road conditions before booking. You may not need one, but we cannot guarantee access without one. The space The Clyde River Retreat is surrounded on all sides by State Forest and National Park, kilometres from the nearest neighbours (other than the native wildlife) it is a perfect place to get away from it all. With over half a kilometre of river frontage, the retreat is perfect for fishing or swimming in the Clyde river, bush-walking in the local forests, or for use as a launching point for exploring the surrounding national parks. For artists, writers and musicians, the retreat offers something unique – an unspoilt environment and a simple lifestyle that will recharge your creative energies and enrich your artistic endeavors. The retreat has three separate cabins that can accommodate up to sixteen people – perfect for special-interest groups who need a place free from all distractions from the outside world. Or for anyone who just needs a place of unparalleled privacy and seclusion, to de-stress or de-tox periodically. This listing is for the Carisbrook Lodge - 3 bedrooms, accommodation for up to 8 people. One bedroom has a queen bed, one bedroom has a double and a single bed, and one bedroom has three single beds. There is a fully equipped kitchen, an internal toilet, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Laundry facilities are also available. See our separate listings for the other cabins on the retreat - the Budawang Cottage (2 bedrooms, accommodates up to 6 people) and the Didthul Cot (1 bedroom, accommodates 2 people). Note that you do not usually need a 4WD just to get to the retreat, but you may need one to explore some areas such as the National Parks. If you have a 2WD vehicle, please inquire before booking and we will let you know the likely road conditions. Guest access You can spend all your time on the Retreat, or you can explore the spectacular Budawang and Morton National Parks. You are only 30 minutes from many of the beautiful beaches of the South Coast, or from the lovely villages of Milton and Nelligen. Ulladulla and Bateman’s Bay are also nearby. Other things to note Our property is an intentionally rustic retreat - completely "off-grid", and in keeping with the natural surroundings. Our facilities may not be suitable for the elderly, the infirm, or for those with limited mobility. If you have any questions, please contact us to discuss before booking. All toilets on the retreat are dry composting or pit toilets. Registration Details PID-STRA-5666-1
