Teranga Mission Beach - absolute beachfront

We love it here! We built this place as a weekend escape from our work lives in Cairns. It has 3 bedrooms (BR) & 3 bathrooms. Absolute beachfront and the open plan design means you hear the lapping waves from every part of the house. Lots to do in the area, but a car is recommended. Daytrips galore! Nightly rate advertised & quoted on Airbnb is for 2 BRs, contact me for 1 and 3 BR nightly rates. There is a $500 refundable bond. Teranga is exclusively for guests 16 years or older. The space Our house is absolute beachfront up the quiet end of the beach. We built it as our holiday home in 2001, and put a lot of thought into the design so we could chill out with our extended family. There are 3 bedrooms, each with its own ensuite. The master bedroom overlooks the back garden and has fantastic sea views and breeze. The other 2 bedrooms each have king sized beds which can be converted into single beds, allowing the house to comfortably sleep 6. NOTE: listed rates are for 2 bedrooms. Contact me for 1 or 3 bedroom rates. Our end of the beach is Wongaling, which overlooks Dunk Island. There are fewer people on our beach, only families and a few other holiday makers from the surrounding houses. We often feel like we're the only ones there. And because we are absolute beachfront, we can take our 'toys' down to the beach (kite surfer, boogie boards etc) without hassle. Most of our guests are repeat visitors, who want a quiet escape. In 2016 we decided to build a bigger pool. It gives a cool respite from the sea water, and somewhere private with easy access to the kitchen and BBQ area for sunset drinks. Our house is a very short drive to the nearby restaurants and shops, which gives us a options for meals. You can wander along the beach to a few local restaurants, and take a taxi back to the house if you're wanting a few drinks with dinner. Otherwise hop in the car and you can be there in less than 5 minutes. We're avid cooks and prefer to self cater - meaning that the kitchen is fully equipped. There is a large gas BBQ to the side of the back patio, and a large outdoor table which seats 6. When you book I can give you details of some great shops you can drop by on your drive down to pick up local provisions. Things like fresh produce from the Atherton Tablelands, Mungali yoghurts, and fresh seafood. The added bonus we have at Mission Beach is we have a large Woolworths supermarket which a lot of small country towns don't. We provide you with a little tea, coffee & milk but its advisable to bring a few things for your first morning's breakfast. There is off street parking, and side access from the front to the back in case you want to bring your own paddle boards or water toys. Otherwise white water rafting, fishing, Island hopping, skydiving and bush walking are popular activities which are easily booked. Enjoy some of the most pristine national parks in Australia without the crowds. At night we like to chill out and watch films, so there's a large digital flatscreen TV you can access Netflix or whatever subscription you might have. We provide free WiFi so you can check your, social media accounts or whatever else. Guest access The key will be in a keylock, so you can arrive any time day or night. You can access most of the house, with exception of the garage and private personnel storage areas. Bedroom 2 & 3 are lockable, so if you there are only 2 of you, you can rent the entire house and just use the master bedroom. Message me to check the rate. Other things to note Bed Configuration: Master bedroom: 1 King size bed 2nd bedroom: 1 King size bed (or 2 long singles)* 3rd bedroom: 2 long singles (or one King size bed)* *Most families choose to use Bedroom 1 & 3 due to the configurations. Just let me know your bedding preferences in advance. Bathroom amenities We provide mini spa amenities for your first nights. Air Conditioning: All bedrooms with both air conditioning and ceiling fans. Living room and kitchen area with ceiling fans only Fully equipped laundry. I'll leave you beach towels as well as bath towels, as well as laundry powder in case you want to do a wash during your stay. There is a Miele washing machine, clothes line just off from the laundry, as well as a Miele dryer. We tend to let things line dry, and only use the dryer for finishing them off if still damp at the end of the day. Fully equipped kitchen The coffee machine takes Nespresso coffee pods, of which I'll leave you a few to get started. Otherwise you should find everything (cooking equipment) you need, including BBQ tools. Note: we do not provide condiments due to health & hygiene reasons. But there's a Woolworths down the road, or you can bring your own.
