The space When I decided on opening my home to AirBnb, I really wanted to offer a comfortable respite for families with patients at the nearby Mayo Clinic Hospital seeking a relaxing, peaceful recovery environment. To support them we have special monthly rates for stays over 28 days and knowing that healing can take time, we try to be flexible about shortening or extending stays. In addition we are ideal for hosting out-of-town family, Cactus League fans and golf enthusiasts (TPC Scottsdale is a 12 min drive), seasonal visitors, as well as the business traveler wanting the feel of home while visiting the North Scottsdale/101 corridor. We also get visitors attending trade-shows and other events at the near by Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Convention Center. Coyote Basin Park has a playground and is a 2-3 minute walk and in addition is 1 of only 8 Phoenix city parks that allow radio controlled planes and drones so even if you do not own one, it is fun to walk over and watch for a bit, the fliers seem to arrive around 10 AM. North Phoenix is a hikers paradise with numerous Phoenix Mountain Preserve parks a short drive away such as North Mountain and Shaw Butte for all your hiking or mountain biking needs be it easy to challenging. Heading north on the way to Cave Creek/Carefree is the Cave Buttes Recreation Area, a real hidden gem for the outdoor enthusiast. For runners, the Reach 11 trailhead offers a 6.4 mile loop trail and can be accessed with a warmup run from the house. Nearby Buffalo Ridge Park (disk golf/basketball/hiking) and Paradise Valley Park Public Golf Course are less than 3 miles away. For those visiting Phoenix for soccer, rugby or field hockey tournaments at the premier Reach 11 Sports Complex, the drive is a quick 5-8 minutes on surface streets. Conveniently situated in North-Central Phoenix, there easy access to the freeway for East and West Valley Cactus League parks and there is quick access to I-17 for short day trips to Prescott (~90 minutes) and Sedona (~110 minutes). From the Sky Harbor rental car facility the AirBnb is a 25-35 minute drive on State Route 51 going through the scenic Dream Draw and Piestawa Peak which are part of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve park system. Please look in the my online guide for stops along the way including award winning pizza at Pizzeria Bianco at Town and Country. This is also a great stop as Trader Joes is nearby. Guest access Main living spaces, kitchen, bedrooms and the fully fenced backyard with covered patio. The laundry room is off the kitchen. Note there is NO access to garage. Other things to note The Music Instrument Museum (MIM) is very convenient and according to TripAdvisor, is the #1 "things-to-do" destination for Phoenix. In addition to an interactive museum, they host national music acts throughout the year in an intimate 300 seat venue. Our AirBnB is located less than 5 miles from Desert Ridge Marketplace. This destination offers a wide range of restaurants, shopping and entertainment include the new CB Live venue which offers ticketed national standup comedy acts as well as live music performances. In addition next to Desert Ridge is the "High Street" Mixed Use Complex with a lot of restaurants as well as stand-up comedy.
