Whitestar Station's Palm Tree Cottage in Colville

Just outside the door, are bush & scenic walks, waterfalls,, swimming in the creek (which ranges from ankle deep to twice an adult's depth.) It's only 2-10 mins drive away from the beach, cafes, general store, farm store, art & craft shops, medical centre, library and tennis courts. There's plenty of outdoors space (1260ha of it) ... My house has lots of character and comfort and is great for pets; friends, family and club get-togethers (4 other houses are available on the farm for accommo too) The space Our older but comfy 4 bedroom home is cool in summer but cosy warm in winter especially with the woodstove going. 2 bedrooms are inside the house and there are 2 bedrooms adjoining the bathroom which is across the metre-wide verandah from the kitchen. When there are more than 4 people staying, the other bathroom will be available to use. It's about 10 metres around the outside of the house There's no deck but the BBQ table on the lawn outside is perfect for cooking on the BBQ, supping a wine or two and stargazing at night (no light pollution here !!) Or during the day it's neat to see the Hereford cattle grazing on the paddocks with the mountains in the background. Guest access There's a 1260 hectare farm to wander on -- half is in grass and half is native bush and regenerating manuka bush. (Manuka is what the bees use to make the anti-bacterial/anti-viral honey -- available for sale at Colville Store) There are bush tracks up to the top of the mountain range with waterfalls on the way. And there are ways to the top of the range via grass paddocks as well -- glowworms are up there too in an old goldmine The Hereford cattle don't mind you wandering through as long as you haven't got a dog with you -- they think the dog is going to hurt their babies ! (The silly sheep just bolt off if you just look at them but you can still wander through them too) Just 150 metres away is the creek which is great for paddling in the shallows, building dams and checking out the fish life. A few metres upstream swimmers can jump off the bank and bridge, and swim in a 3m deep hole -- check for hidden logs first !! More swimming can be done at the waterfalls too - 2 of them -- lovely native bush to go through. Other things to note LINEN/Bedding The Queen bed in the house, is ready to sleep in with sheets, duvet/blankets, towels and facecloth, The single beds and bunk beds just have a bottom sheet, pillow, pillow case and duvets/blankets. ........If you need a top sheet, towel and facecloth then it will be an extra $10 per person per stay.
