Relax in the Corrèze at our peaceful riverside getaway, with exclusive use of the 5 bedroom gîte and the gorgeous seasonal pool - all with private access to the Dordogne. Enjoy darts & snooker table inside, and extensive grounds with volleyball, badminton, ping pong, kid climber & swings. Meander through private forest along the river, bring a fishing pole - La Grange Riveraine is perfect for large groups! Strict 15 guest maximum, including all children. The space Welcome to our unique riverside location for a country holiday at La Grange Riveraine. When booking our gite, you will be the only guests on the property with exclusive daytime use of the heat pump heated pool (available May 15 through September 30). 15 guest maximum is required by law and insurance, and includes all children and babies, as well as day guests. La Grange Riveraine is our enormous, recently renovated 18th century barn - everything is fresh and newly equipped throughout. In the garden, a pergola provides a shady seating area next to the barbecue and pool. Three all-weather tables provide outdoor seating for up to 15 adults, plus the children have their own bench table, too. This leads to the private entrance and the adjacent foyer equipped with a fridge/freezer for easy access to drinks, ice, and food storage. Accessible from the foyer is a Games room with a convenient ground floor shower, WC and laundry facilities. The living areas are accessed up the staircase here. On the first floor of the barn is the open plan living area. The dining table can accommodate 15, with two high chairs available. The well-equipped kitchen has two gas rings and four electric plates above the oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, and two under-counter fridges. The lounge area has a big screen TV with both French and English channels and a DVD player available. Free secure high-speed Wi-Fi. A new 9 ft snooker table is provided and the dartboard is ready! The Bedrooms are as follows... • La Grange Master Bedroom, on the first floor overlooking the pool: one queen-size bed, a single bed, and a new shower room. There is also a desk and workspace here. Bedrooms 2, 3, 4, 5, and the family bathroom are accessed up the stairs on the 2nd floor. • Bedroom 2: queen-size bed and shares the family bath and shower room with 3 and 4. • Bedroom 3 : 3 single beds and a bunk bed - great for kids! • Bedroom 4 : two single beds, very cute. • Bedroom 5 : a queen-size bed, wooden crib, and new shower room. A pullout sofa in the living room converts to a double bed, and there are two additional child travel cots, as well as an additional single bed on the upstairs landing. All of these can be made up upon request. All bed linen and bath towels are provided. *Please bring your own swimming pool towels.* Adjacent to the pergola are two charcoal-burning barbecues. Your swimming pool (measuring 5 x 10 m with a maximum depth of 2 m) is fenced and gated with child-proof latches. The pool is serviced daily by the owner, and is available for guest use 10am-8pm. A selection of poolside furniture is provided. Garden In the garden is an adjustable net to play either volleyball or badminton; balls and rackets are provided. There is a ping-pong table to bring outside, as well as a swing set and jungle gym in the yard for the youngsters, with parents responsible for their children's safety, of course. The garden leads down a gradual slope to a riverside meadow from which there is direct access to the river for fishing and wild swimming. In summer river levels are low and canoe hire (just up the road) is tremendously popular. The grounds additionally include an acre of natural woodland which is wonderful for experiencing nature and discovering wildlife. If you sit quietly on the riverbank you might see a kingfisher, heron, and possibly even an otter. You could discover an iron ring set in stone to which the rope ferry was anchored in past times. Newly installed fiber Wifi allows for full connectivity, for when you are not busy relaxing in the sun and soaking in all the green! Chris and Garland live in the farm house next door and will be available to welcome you and otherwise keep out of your way except when you need us. You might see us enjoying our private garden areas or working on the grounds. Guest access Guests have their own garden space provided by the pool, including a wisteria covered patio with tables and chairs, badminton net, and play equipment. Owners have a private garden and potager; private areas are marked PRIVE or have ropes/fences to make that clear. Guests have private laundry room and indoor clotheslines, and may also share the owner's clotheslines next to the potager if there is space. Other things to note Please note both our gites require guests to use stairs to enter. Pool is typically open 10am-8pm, May 15 - Sept 30. Guest maximum 15. House Manual with detailed rules and guest list must be completed and signed to confirm booking; if this is not received in the requested time frame, booking will and must be cancelled, no exceptions.
